Hi Everyone. I need a preschool for my 3 1/2 year old full time. Does anyone have any recommendations for a school in the Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Cary, LITH area? I have been researching extensively and can only find preschools that offer part time schooling. I am not a stay at home mom and I am getting kind of frustrated at the fact that these schools are geared for that. There is nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom but that is not what I'm in need of. Pleaseeeeeee let me know.
Thanks for reading :)

E.,

My 3 1/2 year old daughter attends Kindercare in Mundelein and she loves it, as do we. They offer preschool programs for both 3 and 4 year olds. Our location also offers special enrichment programs (spanish, Kindergym, etc).

Kindercare does have locations in the areas you noted in your email. I did a search on their website and this is what came up when I put in Crystal Lake, IL. Their website is www.kindercare.com

I think all Kindercares are open 6:30am to 6pm, although my daughter attends the Core Program and goes from 8-4pm three times per week.

Are you looking for Pre-school or Daycare. Usually pre-school at that age is always part time. I would recommend La Petite Academy in Crystal Lake. My son went there and I was very happy with them.

Hi E.,

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this! Have you checked out Rocky Racoon in Cary, IL. My son actually goes to Cary cOuntry preschool but they do not have daycare also. But I have heard excellent things about Rocky Racoon. They offer preschool and day care so it may work out perfectly. Hope this helps.

There is a wonderful preschool/daycare called The Learning Tree. Now, I only have direct experience with the Elgin-West location. Howevere this is a Wife/Husband run child care center with four locations--one of which is Algonguin. Check out their website:
thelearningtreechildcare.com. Good luck. Please let me know how it turns out!

I live in Algonquin and work full time as well. I don't know how you feel about daycare centers (Kindercare, etc) but there are several daycare centers in the area. There is a Goddard School opening in April in LITH, Kindercare on Randall Rd, La Petit Academy on Algonquin Rd, and Children's World learning center near the LITH movie theater. Personally, I like the Bright Horizons centers, and that is where I have had my kids for the last 2.5 years (I have a 2.5 year old and a 7 month old.) There is a Bright Horizons center on Memorial Ct. in Crystal Lake (I use a Corporate Bright Horizons center near my work in Schaumburg.) But I have known people with kids at the other centers above and they have been happy. Oh! There is also a Montessori school - Foundations Montessori - just west of Randall & Algonquin in LITH. They have full time programs for 3 and up.

Good Luck!

Hi... I, too, am in search of a preschool. I was very impressed with La Petite Academy in Crystal Lake and Barrington Montessori. La Petite, I think, is something like 6am-6pm (they have am's or full day / extended care), and I believe Barrington Montessori is something like 8:30-5:30 5 days a week, or part-time afternoons. There is also another school named the Goddard school opening in LITH in May. I believe that is full-time as well. Good Luck!
