Hello! I am desperately seeking a childcare provider in the Arlington Heights area. Our dilemma is cost. We are having a hard time finding reasonably priced childcare and we are becoming desperate! I am open to home daycares, or someone coming and babysitting in our home. Does anyone have any referrals or recommendations???

What can I do next?

We take my son to A+ day School in Palatine ... they have one on Rand Rd as well ... and in MT Prospect on Algonquin .... you pay as you go (so when you are on vacation you do not have to pay) ..... I can get you info if you would like - feel free to email me if you want! We love it there!

R.,

We use KinderCare in Cary (not close to Arlington Heights). I LOVE it there. They are very reliable but not sure on the affordable part. We pay $255/week for our 21 M old. It was about $270/week for an infant at 8 months. The 4 year old should be way less and there should be a discount available for two kids.

The problem is that I've found that all KinderCare's are not the same. I've read on here some people weren't happy with them. So, you'd need to check out the one by you and get a good feel for it.

Good luck.

I send my 3 year old and 1 year old to Sandy's Home CHildcare which is at Bode and Barrington Roads. I pay $388/week. She's excellent. Email me if you would like her website or information.

Have you tried posting a request on Craigslist.org
You could nab yourself a great nanny right now with all the college/high school kids getting out for the summer.

I would just list exactly what you are willing to pay per week as well as what your requirements are. That way you don't get any ridiculous requests for high payments. You can then interview and find the perfect sitter. don't forget to check references.

You might try asking at Church. I also live in Arlington Heights and I found out through Our Lady of the Wayside about a woman named Heidi Dempsey who runs a daycare out of her home, who comes highly recommended. (I would have used her, but I need somebody to watch 3 of my 4 kids in the afternoon and she didn't have enough space.) Where do you work? I ended up finding a great place near where I work in Park Ridge.

We're loving the Goddard School in Hawthorn Woods. They have locations in Round Lake, Hawthorn Woods, Third Lake, Schaumburg, Lake In The Hills, Elgin, South Elgin, Bloomingdale, Saint Charles and Aurora. For our twins, 3 years 3 months old we pay about $1800 a month (that's $450 a week for both) with the 2nd child 10% discount. They are just getting potty trained, and once they are it'll go down another $3-400 a month when they move into the next room. Good luck.

Peace,
Richard
