About to Lose My Mind!! My Angel Is Now a Terror

My husband and I are so blessed, from the beginning my daughter has been a wonderful sleeper! We would just lay her in the bed, walk away and she would go to sleep. All of a sudden the past 3 weeks it has been horrible getting her (21 months)to bed. She starts to scream when you put her in the bed and especially when you leave the room. We have tried sitting with her until she falls asleep, but she just wakes up 10-30 minutes later screaming and then she will not even lay down. (I guess she is mad that we left while she was asleep) We had...

Baby Monitor That Monitors 2 Different Rooms And/or Video Monitor

Hi again! :) I just saw a reco for a baby monitor (Graco Vibe) that switches between 2 rooms every 5 seconds. However, some of the reviews for that particular product aren't great so I was wondering if there are more kinds out there? I am even interested in perhaps registering for a video monitor (my dd is moving to a different floor, the new baby will be in my room...the distance makes me nervous) so I need recos for that, too, if possible. Or maybe a GOOD quality monitor that can do two rooms? Thanks!

How Do You Handle School Mornings?

Our morning routine consists of a lot of yelling and threatening of my almost 7 year old. I wake him up in plenty of time but he likes to stay in bed or not get dressed until im screaming about being late. Then he doesnt want to eat breakfast or doesnt know what he wants, so many days he doesnt eat before school. Then when we try to leave, its another issue of getting his coat on and shoes and im yelling to hurry up. I have an almost 2 year old and a 4 year old to get ready during this time too. Theres a lot going on and it seems the 7...

Bedding Advice for Young Toddler

My young toddler (20 months old) will soon be moving to his new room and out of his crib. We are going to get him a twin bed and I am in the process of thinking about bedding for his new digs! Does anyone have any general advice as far as selecting bedding for such a young guy? For example - I was wondering quilt vs. comforter? Or types of materials maybe? It gets quite cold here, but our house is never freezing. Wondering if he will even sleep under a blanket of any sort as he is all over his crib at night.... Any general advice is...

Summer Home School

My daughter is finishing up her first grade year. This summer I want to have her continue to practice what she has learned. I plan to have her do schoolwork on weekday mornings. I found softschools.com, which has worksheets & things by grade, and I plan to go to Sam's Club to get some workbooks for her. I have a few questions though. How long should I have her doing school work each morning? How long should she spend on each subject? How much work should I schedule per day? Also, how long should I keep her reviewing first grade...

Too Early to Potty Train?

My son is 21 months old and refuses to stop pulling off his diapers. He has even gone as far as to poop on the floor twice. He has peed on the floor many times. The problem is that he won't tell me WHEN he has to go so I can potty train him. He doesn't go to the bathroom and if I put him on his potty, he doesn't do anything in the potty. Are these just the first stages of an interest in potty training? I am worried that if I don't hop on this opportunity that he will change his mind but at the same time, I don't know if he is 100% ready. I...

19 Month Old & "Breath Holding Spells" Please Help!

A brief history first and a foremost: my son is now 19 months old and has been having "breath holding spells" consequently causing him to pass out, for the past 9 - 10 months. Since the time he was a few weeks old, we started to see some loud noisy breathing and a decrease in his eating. After many trips to specialists, we found out he has a condition called laryngomalacia (where his epiglottis was floppy and "underdeveloped" obstructing his airway, causing the loud breathing and the struggle with eating. At around 5 months of age he had a...

Silly Question About Chicken Cutlets and Butcher Counter

I feel silly asking this but would rather ask online than at the actual butcher counter :0) I have recently discovered chicken cutlets. I accidentally bought a bag of flash frozen chicken cutlets at Sam's Club. The problem is they don't always have them there. It's become hit or miss, mainly miss. I try and stock up when I do find them but tend to still run out. I also can never find them in my regular market. So I remember hearing on Rachel Ray's show that you can just ask the butcher to cut the chicken breast into cutlets. So here's...
