My husband and I are looking for a family doctor/general practitioner to begin seeing. WE are unhappy with our current doctor and would love to find someone new who is also close to us in location. We live in Edgewater and would be willing to go south into Lakeview or north into Evanston. Hoping to find a doctor who listens well and is comfortable with alternative therapies/treatments as well.
Any referrals would be greatly appreciated.

This might not be close enough, but I highly recommend my family doctor. John Tenhundfeld 1317 W. Diversey ###-###-####. (Lakeview area) I've been going to him for over 6 yrs and feel very comfortable with him. I never feel like I'm just another patient. It's quite easy to get an appt too. He also works with 2 other doctors and they both are very nice too. Plus, there is parking at the office!
the illinois masonic family practice on lawrence & ravenswood is really great. our doctor is Lata Patel, D.O. & we love her. but we've seen numerous other doctors at the practice when unable to see dr. patel on short notice (for a cold....) and we've loved every doctor we've met there. they also have a developmental specialist on staff (& a lactation nurse). I can't speak highly enough about this practice. dr. patel has a very holistic approach to medicine that we love. she really asks about all aspects of our son's life and development.

Dr. Frederic Ettner, 800 Austin Evanston. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is wholistic.
