My daughter is almost two and before my son was born she was telling me she had to go poopy and I would take her and she would go. Now she wont tell me at all and wont tell me if she has to pee. My problem is she is having problems with diapers and I really need her to start potty training... Help how can I get her back in the swing of things?

I'm potty training my son who's 3yrs old. I know it's proubly different for girls then boys but, I put my son in underwear and jean shorts and keep asking him if he has to go if he wants to do something or go somewhere I say you have to go potty first and it seems to work.

Hi J., We had the same issue after my second daughter was born. We found that it was best to leave the subject alone for a few weeks since having a new sibling is quite stressful for these little guys. After my daughter got somewhat used to the new little person in the house we went "cold turkey". Luckily our house has lots of tile and we wore no underwear or anything ... to make things easier. We had maybe two or three accidents but after that it was smooth sailing. My daughter did not like anything running down her legs ... using the potty was a much better option for her. A few books near the potty, a huge sticker chart (she got a sticker for every time she used the potty - 30 stickers and she got to go to Chuck E. Cheese - we had a potty-party:) and she used it like a pro. She preferred the training seat on the regular toilet above the potty especially for #2. Try not to stress about it - one day it'll just happen. Good luck!

Hi, I thought I would give you a little insight. I have 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl. My oldest boy did the same and the best thing is to let them do it on their own.

Hi J., For my son we just put those thick cotton training undies on him. After a few days of soaking those, he was using the potty. Also, we didn't use the baby potty chair but we used one of those small seats that fits right over the regular toilet. Good luck!
