I am getting a little concerned. My cycle has been off. I will get my period and bleed for 2-3 days. Then it abruptly stops. Then about 5 days later i start spotting again - dark blood and clots (sorry TMI). Can this be normal? I'm in my upper 30s.

What can I do next?

You might want to talk to a GYN or a Midwife, but I'm guessing it's just perimenopausal cycle weirdness.

I would talk to your gynecologist about this. It doesn't sound normal. My mom had heavy, irregular bleeding (don't know about the brown or clots) and she ended up in the ER for anemia and needed a full hysterectomy (she was in her late 40s at the time). You don't want it to get to that point (if it's at all heading that way). It's better to get checked and it be nothing than to ignore it and it be a problem!

Definitely go talk to your gyno. I am in my early 30s and my cycle has been very odd for the last 4-5 months. About 2 months ago I went to see my dr. and after a couple of ultrasounds and trying an oral contraceptive to regulate they found that it was two egg sized cysts that aren't going to go away by themselves. I am now scheduled for a laparoscopy. Every case can be different... but I would get a doctors advice rather than try other remedies, just in case.

That happened to me after one of my pregnancies. It is a hormonal imbalance. YOu also have estrogen dominance which causes you to have middlemertz, which is pain during ovulation. This is also an estrogen problem. Get off all estrogen now. Stop drinking non organic milk, stop eating beef. All the beef you get at the store has been laced with estrogen. Estrogen makes the animals fat so they can sell them at a higher price. It also makes us fat when we eat them and makes us estrogen dominant. It will take a few months to get it out of your system so be patient. Also I recommend a wild yam cream that helps your body make progesterine. That will help you feel like your ole self again. It brings peace in the home
