Hello Moms, I know this is off topic of motherhood and more in line with regaining ones femininity, and sex appeal. I was thinking about having my bikini lasered and I would like to know if anyone has tried this and used American Laser Centers. If so, how were the results, permanency, expense, and overall satisfaction with them.
Thanks!

I signed up for a drawing at the ALC booth at an event in downtown Pleasanton during the summer months. I received an email that I had won and should call them very quickly for a consultation. I did some research on-line and was suprised to read that many other people who entered the drawing also won. The experiences of those who attended those consultations was on-line also. My advice is to do your research on this company.

Hi M.- I have limited experience with this, but I had one treatment done on my bikini line for laser hair removal. It was done with a state of the art machine in a plastic surgeon's office. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue the treatments due to cost. The hair was gone for about 5-6 weeks, then it all grew back. I'm not sure how many repeated treatments would've been necessary to take care of teh regrowth. Just be wary of cost up front and get all of the info before starting it. It doesn't hurt at all (not me at least) and it was nice while it lasted. Oh, and I hear if you have darker skin you have to be on guard for discoloration (permanent). They'll hopefully tell you all of that. good luck, K. T

I "won" a gift certificate from them for $300. When I went for the consultation, they wanted $2,500 for treatments and the first thing they wanted to do was have me sign up to debit my account monthly. I told them I needed to think about this (which means I didn't get the discount for signing up that day). I then went to http://www.yelp.com and found a lot of negative reviews. Do you research before you sign up.

M.,

I had a gift certificate for ALC and I wasn't satisfied at all. They were very persistent and obnoxious about the package deals and they didn't seem to care that I wanted to just do my gift certificate. For the whole session they were trying to upgrade me and get me to sign their contract for a $3000 laser hair removal. I found their prices to be outrageous and their service to be below standard. Sorry for the negative feedback, but you should know the + and the -. Hope this helps you in whatever you decide.

Take care,

Molly

i have had my lip & chin done 3yrs ago it cost me $1,000 and it was worth every dollar. i was extremly hairy on the lip & the chin was starting to produce thick black catus like hairs all of a sudden. if you catch the hair before it turns white you can still remove them, if they have already turn white they cannot be removed due to lack of pigment. the laser needs color to grab to remove completely. there was a bit of pain where the hair was thicker but the pain of having a mustache was greater then any pain i experienced. i'm guess a bikini area might be a bit more exspencive. if your worried about results it does work. good-luck. I think it was American Laser Centers, not entirely sure. It was a place in Novato, I think. But in any case, laser hair removal is very effective, especially on coarse, dark hair. The darker the hair, the more effective the laser is. I've had bikini line, and nape of neck done, maybe stomach (not sure if that was laser or electrolysis). I've done electrolysis as well. It all works, just takes some time and money.

After reading response below, I have to add that usually it takes more than one treatment, but three should usually do it.

Reading another response - I have light skin, so don't have to worry about discoloration.

Hi there, I have done it on my face.. I was told I was a perfect candidate, I have light skin and dark hair... And I have a HUGE mental issue with the dark hair (I have it everywhere...) Well, needless to say, a few years and a lot of money later... I am having to wax again. Granted it is not as bad as it used to be, but I have to say I am a little disapointed.
