Christmas Pictures: Where to Take??

I usually have my son's pics taken for his b-day (he turned 5 at end of Nov.) and I was going to have my daugh. pic taken for her 1st b-day yesterday (the 17th) but I've just put it off b/c I wasn't sure the best place & the best deals on pics for this time of yr. I'd like to spend around $100 but no more than $150. I've had my best luck with SEARS but I have used Wal-Mart in the past too.

I was considering TARGET portrait studio or OLAN MILLS or possibly just going back to SEARS where I know the quality they deliver. (Sears studio at Metro North on Barry Rd.)

So, WHERE have you had your best pictures taken and at WHAT STUDIO location do you trust most? What do you recommend for great Christmas pictures for a family of 4 with 2 kids, ages 5 & 1? I also want to mention that I will be sending lots home to my family in Mississippi for the holidays. :)

Thanks in advance for taking time to give me your opinion. :) Merry Christmas to all!!

What can I do next?

Since we have lived here I have taken my daughter to Sears (Metro North) and JcPenney (on Antioch). And I was very impressed with JcPenney. They were really good with shy my 2 yr old. They got her to laugh/smile. They also have the $9.99 one pose package. You can also get coupons on their website - www.jcpenneyportraits.com.

My best friend got her kids pictures taken at a studio behind Walmart on Barry and I-29 in the strip center where Hoolahan's (?) is. I am not sure of the name but they were the best photos I have seen. They were great and she said they let her take as many poses as she wanted and even let her change her kids clothes. She had usually taken her kids to Target or Walmart and she said they were comparable in price. I think she might have spent a little more but not much.

I have had the best luck at Portrait Innovations at the Boardwalk next to Houlihans. I think you can get about 40 pics of one pose for 9.99. A single photo sheet is 15 but the price drops when you buy several sheets.

Just to "second" Carrie and Alyson, I was going to suggest Portrait Innovations, as well. They will get the creative shots that you will treasure.

I have had my son's pictures taken at Portrait Inovations across from the Barry Road Wal-Mart. I have always been very happy with the results and I like that you get your pictures in the same day, no waiting weeks for them. They do offer a package for $9.99 and charge no sitting fee. There are also things in the lobby for your children to play with to keep them occupied until it is your turn and while you are picking out your pictures. Hope this helps.

M.,

I have used JCPENNEY in the past, they do a good job, we also use Portrait Innovations they are located next to Houlihans in I believe its called Barry Woods. They are across from Lowes and Walmart off of Barry Road. They do a great job and take several different poses using neat backgrounds or props. The nice thing is that you get your pictures the same day. They usually have a package that you can get for $9.95 for one pose. If you purchase a certain amount of packages you also get a disc with all the pictures on it. Around Christmas though they book up fast but you can see if they can get you in. Good Luck J. C

Hello M.,

I recently had the same problem. Price and quality have been great for me from Target. If you go online you can find a coupon for 3.99 for each sheet, no sitting fees and a free 8x10. I have enjoyed how creative they have gotten with our pictures versus the same old, same old poses.

Good luck to you!

L.

Hello M.,

I highly recommend Portrait Innovations. They are very very good and have a great package price for $9.95 that you can get every three months. But it includes a ton of pictures and you choose the pose you want. Then you can also buy additional poses for an additional cost. Even the additional poses are a good price. They have super cute backgrounds and are good with the kids. They have a website if you want to check them out. And the best thing is you get your pictures that very same day. I've had really good luck with them.

I've also used Target and they turn out really good as well but I feel like I get more for the money at Portrait Innovations.

Good Luck & Happy Holidays,
L.
