Any familiar with Salon 37 or the Taylor Stevens Salon in Algonquin? I am looking for a new hair stylist and wanted some input! I really want a place that has a staff that is kept up to date with recent hair trends.

What can I do next?

My daughter had her hair done at Taylor Stevens Salon and they ruined it! She was going for a deep purple/red/brown and the roots are the only thing that are right. Everything else is a different color. Working with the manager was a joke. I have left messages, emails and even tried Facebook to get a hold of the owner, still no response. They are sweet as pie until you have a complaint. Then the attitude comes out and the manager says, "If you don't like what I say, wait till you speak with the owner, she is worse!" I will never return there again. I also found out that this is their second salon the first was closed due to so many complaints...

Hi S.!

This may be a little late but I actually tried both salons & did not like.

Salon 37 I went to once & the stylist cut my air sooo bad I asked for my money back & never went back.

Taylor Stevens I went to a few times but the stylist there could not style my hair. She seemed to cut ok but when it came to styling after the cut; it looked worse than when I do it.

I now go to Pure Salon in Lake In The Hills & enjoy Jvonne's haircuts & styles.

Hope this helps & isn't too late.

S.,

I used to go to Taylor Stevens in LITH, not long after they first opened. I went to the owner for my hair. I was happy with the service until they started getting too busy and then it became very difficult to get appointments unless you booked 3 months in advance. Also, there were several incidents of booking errors. Once I had an appointment that I had booked in advance with the owner and she had to cancel for a personal e.r., which I completely understand. However, they couldn't get me rescheduled for another two months! With that said, I go to Bladez on Randall, in front of Home Depot, and have gone there for a long time now. Christina cuts my hair and she is the best! She is completely up on the latest and greatest and she LISTENS!!!!! I highly recommended her!!!

Hi S....
I have gone to Taylor Stevens.. I even had my hair cut by the owner before she opened her first location out in lake in the hills.. she is very nice, andrea....but the salon has gotten pretty pricey. and there is such a high turn over in stylists.. I feel it has just become too big but perhaps the name the other girl gave you for a stylist there will work just fine.. Jennifer was it??

. I need color every 7 weeks or so.. If you are looking for someone who really listens to what you want.. and is good with color.. and cuts.. my stylist just transferred from a more expensive salon in Algonquin there to the Hair Cuttery on the corner of Algonquin road and Randall.. Her name is Kaeli..she is young.. in her 20's... and I'm SO THRILLED that I can have her as my stylist and pay a FRACTION of what my former salon charges and Taylor Stevens..OMG haircuts are $13.00.. ! she starts on Monday and she is doing my daughter's hair for her wedding this fall..
good luck.. and keep in touch! hope it all works out for you. I know.. my stylist is so important to me..!
