Anyone Marry Their High School Sweetheart - and Are Still Together???

Or am I the only one? hehe

I sometimes wonder about this...we've been together since we were 17 and only apart VERY BRIEFLY (2 weeks when we went to separate colleges - he thought he'd get a lot of nookie but nope haha so we ended up staying together) and have been really happy other than a few brief periods. We even renewed our vows 2 summers ago - it was so fun.

Anyone else want to share?

What can I do next?

Yes!! I was 15 when we started dating, married 20 years now. We dated 8 years before we got married!! Since everyone is talking about their families...my parents got married at 17, and 23. They got married 2 weeks after they MET!!! They were married for 43 years, till my dad passed away.

I married my college sweetheart (I was 18 when I met him, 20 when we started dating). And we're still together.

My parents DID marry their highschool sweethearts (each other!), actually they were JUNIOR high sweethearts. And THEY'RE also still together after 7 years of dating and 41 years of marriage. As far as role models go, they're about as good as it gets.

Married my Middle School sweetheart. Met him at 13. We just celebrated our 30th anniversary last month.

My husbands grandparents met when they were 2 and 3. Their families were neighbors. They each lived on farms.

They did not like each other till they got older.. They were married over 70 years, but she died first at 92, he died at 101..

They eloped.. quite scandalous!

NOT ME! But I have a friend who married her first date, kiss, etc. They were joined at the hips and "gross" with their mushy lovey-dovey stuff back when they were in TENTH GRADE. Now they are 37 and 38 years old, and still just as "gross" as they were then, lol. It's actually kinda sweet, and neat...but they are very different. EVERYONE else in our highschool class that got married right out of highschool are divorced (were actually divorced by age 24). My great aunt married her high school sweetheart and they've been married 54 years now. My grandma started going with my grandpa (who was 3 years older than her) when she was a senior in high school. They got married after the war (she'd graduated by then) and they were happily married for almost 56 years, until she passed away. There's an older couple who are doing GREAT on this season's Amazing Race and they're awesome, and putting the younger couples to shame on a lot of things.....but he said on last week's show that they met and started "going together" when they were ages 12 and 13, and are going on 50 years of marriage now! Crazy. It happens, but it's so rare (especially these days when divorce is more socially acceptable).

I have been with my husband since I was 15, he was 18. We have been together over 12 years, married 4 1/2, have 2 beautiful boys, and living our own little fairy tale. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful to God for giving me the chance to experience TRUE love, and being able to share my life with my man in the moon. I am 28 he is 30, Each day may not always be easy and I can be a hot head, but his mild manner keeps me in check and I know we will never give up on each other! :)

I am married to my high school sweetheart. We started dating on his 18th birthday. We married shortly after I finished my first year of college. We have been together for 19 years and married for almost 17 (we celebrate our anniversary in May). We have had 7 children together and I know it hasn't always been a bed of roses, but we love and respect each other and that is what counts most of all.

We were best friends through high school, started dating the end of our first year in college (he lived downstairs from me in the dorms) and got married during our senior year of college.

We are coming up on being married 5 years with 2 kids under 3, and are in the middle of a move (I should be packing or unpacking something this very minute). We are stressed, worried, and there for each other. Right now is probably a downpoint in our marriage, but I know the good is just around the corner. We have been through a lot in the last 11 years, and I know we will always come out on top. :) Ask this question in a couple months and I'll get a lot more lovey dovey on you. :)

I met my husband the first day of seventh grade. We ran around in the same group of friends and started dating the winter of our senior year of high school. We went off and on for seven and a half years, growing up and becoming the people we wanted to be.
To this day, he is still my favorite person and the kindest man I have ever known. He is the love of my life.
Every year, we celebrate the anniversary of our first date. (He told me that he loved me and wanted to marry me someday before he ever gave me my first kiss all on that same night) The girls wear pink and the boys wear red and we tell all of our funny stories. This year will mark the 26th anniversary of our first date..and I cannot tell you how thankful I am to go through life with and be raising a family with him.

Here's my story. We met in middle school, and did the whole "going out" thing, boyfriend/girlfriend. Then we went to separate highschools, and he would show up on my doorstep from time to time. Just enough to keep him in my mind. You see, he knew he was going to marry me the first moment he saw me when we were 13. The summer before my junior year my family and I moved and changed our phone number. I then realized the summer before senior year, I hadn't heard from him or seen him in a year. So, I made a phone call, and we have been together ever since. It's been 15 years now and we have a wonderful daughter and in love as ever.
