Any Experience with Alli?

I'm trying to lose the last 10 pounds of baby weight plus another 10 would be perfect! I'm a fan of Weight Watchers and have pretty much been following that program for 10 years, but lately I can only seem to maintain, not lose. Of course, this is because as I get older and busier, it becomes harder to follow the plan to the letter and harder to find time to exercise. I was hoping that something like Alli could augment my semi-weight watchers plan to actually lose at least 10 lbs by summer. Has anyone out there tried it? What's the good, the bad and the ugly? Did it work? How much does it generally cost?

I haven't tried Alli, but I did find a product that is a great help to WW. It is called Sensa. I don't sell it, but I have been using it and writing reviews on it for 6 months.
It is a product that doesn't change your metabolism or anything. It is made of ingredients you are already eating, but the combination sprinkled on top of your food tricks your sense of smell and you get full faster.

I can NOT eat as much as I used to and I rarely feel hungry. I lost 19LBs doing Sensa alone, no diet, no exercise, no additional water. They say the average results are 30lbs, but I'm sure that is with people doing the exercise and recommended water eating, plus they recommend eating breakfast.

Sensa would make it easy to stick to a point system. And it takes away most people's desire for sweets! I don't even WANT cheesecake or chocolate anymore.

You can read my journey at qtpies7.com, the links are on the top of the right hand column. It costs about $33 a month, and I have a code posted for a discount.

Hello A.,
First, have you read the label on Alli? You've got to be sure you're aware of the side effects and health risks of using a product like this. As someone with a nursing background, I was sooo concerned when I actually read the label, and scared for people who actually choose a product like this without understanding the health risks.
Please, please keep it safe. Weight loss is tough and disappointing but so important to do it safely.
I would certainly recommend the weight loss line of a company that I advertise with. They actually have an online weight management system that has been proven more successful than Weight Watchers and less expensive also. Their on-line system allows you to log in your meals and excercise and keeps you on target. It lets you dialogue with nutritionists, chat with others, find recipes, recommend exercises.....it really is amazing and sooo helpful.
You can also take advantage of their weight loss products.
I won't go into everything here, but a few of their products include: a meal replacement bar with a patented crave blocker that actually releases a natural hormone that tells your brain to turn off the feelings of hunger naturally (they come in different flavors, taste good, are low cal, and are inexpensive), and a patented fat conversion bar that works for up to 4 hours, and allows you to burn about 4x more stored fat during exercise (one tastes like a snickers bar, and another tastes like a girl scout mint cookie-those are my favorites!)

I asked my family physician about ALI and she said that it works great. But to keep in mind that it is designed to only help you-thats why its called an ali. You have to make good choices on your diet to get the desired results. You can't skip meals and if you don't eat healthy it does have an issue with making you ill. You can't take a meal off and eat something bad or it won't work.

I'm not judging so please keep this next comment in the context that I want you to see it in.

Please keep this in mind when deciding to diet or follow any type of program. Kids copy everything we do, especially girls(they are more observant) You have 2 beautiful little girls and while your infant can't see the choices you are making your toddler will. They see us put everything into our bodies and copy us in return. If they see you eating fruits and veggies they will eat them also. If they see you eat vitamins-they want those too, same goes for medications. If they hear you talk about diets they will start to talk about those also as they grow up. I choose to just lower the caleries in my diet and have had success in the past. We based our daily meals off of the 2000 calorie recommended daily intake and lowered it to 1600 a day. This allows for 400 calories at 4 meals or 3 meals 1 snack or split the calories between 3 meals and 2 snacks. Or whatever works for you. More importantly make smart choices-lots of fruits and veggies, lots of water, lower meat and dairy intake but keep everything in moderation. You will still be able to eat most foods, even desert but choice is key. You will be able to still eat the same foods as the rest of your family and your girls will start making healthy choices just like you. Good Luck and let us know what you decide.

I haven't tried Alli, but my sister and her roommate did. They actually did lose more weight, however there were major side effects.

My sister's biggest complaint was that anytime she ate fat she was running to the bathroom with diahrrea. She also said you could see the layer of fat around the toilet even after she flushed, so she had to clean it every time she used the bathroom.

I tried Alli for 30 days and fortunately I did not have any of the bad effects whatsoever, but I also did not lose any weight. I wasn't exercising along with it though.

I don't think it's as bad as some have commented on. Most people only have the side effects if they over consume the recommended amount of fat per meal.

I stayed within that and like I said, never had a single bad effect.
