Affordable Gymnastics?

I've been feeling around as to an activity my 4-year-old son would enjoy, and he shot down soccer and karate. He is excited about gymnastics, probably because he knows what it is from the Olympics.
I called up the Little Gym and got a quote of $278 for 20 weeks, one 1-hour class per week.
I don't know if that's a good price. I don't know if there are any other places I could call. We saw TONS of gymnastics clubs in the Dairy Days parade, but I don't remember anything else about them.
Does anyone know of some affordable gymnastics programs in Meridian?

What can I do next?

Hi S.!
I take my 2 boys, 4 and 6, to Meridian Academy of Gymnastics. We just started in June and they really enjoy it! They're raising their rates in September, but I think it's still only $45/month/per kid (1 one-hour lesson/week). They charge a $25 registration fee too (that's standard at any place like that)- it's good for the whole year. I think their prices are very good. There are also 3 different waiting areas you can go to watch your kids. They are off Locust Grove, and Commercial (just south of Fairview and Pine). Easy to get to and good prices! We'd love to have another boy too! We go Thursday's from 1:30-2:30, they also have beginner classes Monday's 10:30-11:30, and Tuesday's 1-2pm. HTH!

I also have 4 year old that I wanted to put into gymnastics or something rather than go to preschool. After pricing the gymnastics in the area (Boise and Meridian), I looked at the YMCA. They have lots of different classes for preschoolers - tumbling, wall climbing, art, science, spanish - plus swimming lessons and pee wee sports if your sons changes his mind about gymnastics. This way our entire family could have benefits, and my son could take some classes. We have only been members for a few weeks, but we have gone swimming several times as a family, I have joined an aerobics class, and I signed my son up for classes starting in September. The YMCA also has financial assistance if your family qualifies. There are locations in downtown Boise, west Boise (Chinden and Cloverdale), Meridian (Linder and Franklin), and Caldwell. Membership is good at all locations. They have a website where you can get lots of information about joining and about the programs they have. I don't know the address - just Google "YMCA Boise" and it should show up.

I've heard good things about Meridian Academy. My kids go to Tumble Time at Cloverdale and Fairview. Prices at Tumble Time are about $110 for 10 weeks.

Look into Tumbletime. I'm not sure if it's Boise or Meridian, but it's on Cloverdale, near Fairview. We like them a lot!
