First Flight Vacation with Kids

We are preparing for our first family vacation (grandparents/ aunts and uncles too)with our two kids. I'm a little nervous about their behavior on the plane. My daughter will just turn 2 and our son will have just turned 5, and they are both less than entertainable in a seat. We are only flying to Florida (a couple hour flight, but in such tight quarters I'm not sure how they will act. If you have any advice on how to prepare or what to bring...it would be greatly appreciated! Also...any advice on cheap airfare or getting seats...

Airplane Travel with 18Mo Old by Myself

Hi, I am traveling in a week with my son on a 3 and 1/2hr flight. I am nervous about carrying the bag, carseat, and then having my son in a small stroller throughout the airport. I'm also almost 7mo pregnant, so I can't bend/move as well as usual. I've traveled with him fine in the past, but didn't have to take the carseat (this airline requires it if he has his own seat). I'd love any advice on taking things/small stuff to entertain him, tips on getting around in the airport, etc. I planned the trip to have one more time home before...

Suggestions on Crafts for Kids 2-12

I want some suggestions on some economical fun kid's crafts. It needs to something that we could do on some tables/picnic tables outside. This is for a family reunion and we will be at a campground. I thought of pet rocks or rocks where the crayons melt on them and then it becomes a paper weight or piece of art, but I would love some more ideas as we might end up doing more than one. Thanks Mamas...

Air Travel with a Toddler

Hello, ladies. I am flying for the first time since I was a child, next week. I am 6 1/2 mos pregnant and I am taking along my rambuncious 2yr old. I need all the advice I can get. What kind of snacks/drinks can I bring on the plane? My husband says since there is a layover to only bring a carryon bag. I wonder if this is the best way and if I should plan on bringing a car seat or is it worth it to rent one with the car. If I bring the car seat how do I handle that, luggage and a two year old? How do other travelers react to...

Air Travel Tips

In December my family (husband and twin daughters) will be traveling to Chicago for a wedding. The girls will be almost a year and a half by then. My question is, does anyone have any air travel tips for me. We booked the flight, hotel and rental car all at once as a package. I made sure the hotel provided cribs (i didn't want them to escape when they decide they don't want to sleep). The girls will be flying on our laps, and I booked a non-stop flight so there will be less frustration. I'm hoping the flight won't be full, that way no one...

Front-facing Car Seat That Is FAA Approved for Planes

hi Moms, In her first year my daughter has already ridden on several plane trips, but never in her own seat. she has just been in my lap each time. She's getting bigger and more squirmy now, and I think its time for her to have her own seat on the plane (for her safety as well as my sanity!). Its also time for her to switch from the rear-facing infant seat to a front-facing toddler one. So I am wondering, because this info seems surprisingly allusive on the web: does anyone know how i can find out which toddler car seats are...
