Temporary Weaning to Formula

My exclusively breastfed 6 month old son has had severe eczema for over 3 months now, and we don't know which way to turn. We have seen medical doctors, tried alternative methods, used every ointment, lotion and even steroid cream, but have not been able to get this under control. Over the last 10 weeks I have eliminated the 10 major allergens from my diet, as well as tried a major elimination where I only ate turkey, brown rice, sweet potato, and squash. I have done these for 3 weeks at a time, as it takes that long to clear the system...

Aquaphor, Eczema and Bum Genius Diapers

My son has severe eczema on his entire body and sometimes we are applying Aquaphor 3 times (or more) a day. I was told by Bum Genius reps that this cream would affect the absorbency of my Bum Genius diapers. I have been using Pampers but really want to cloth diaper. My son does not have a reaction to the diapers. It is more the issue of the diapers having a reaction to the creams I am using on his skin. Any suggestions? 1. Has anyone used Bum Genius AND used Aquaphor type creams and been successful in continuing to use the...

Red Stomach Rash

My 6 month old has red dry patches over his stomach. I noticed it yesterday and it seemed to be better this morning. Unfortunately, it seems to be worse tonight. I applied Aquaphor and hydrocortisone. Could this be a food allergy? I've introduced peaches this week. He's had apples, pears, prunes, carrots, and rice cereal and has never had this rash before. Also wondering if the change in weather may be the cause?

Aquaphor & Mylanta for Diaper Rash????

I read in either Parents or Babytalk that you can use a mixture of Eucerin Aquaphor and Mylanta on diaper rash and that it works great. Has anyone ever tried this? I'm about at my wits end with a never ending diaper rash on my daughter. It will go away for a day or two and then comes right back.

Raw Spots After a Diaper Rash.

My 14 month old had a diaper rash that has cleared up, but she still has several red raw spots we can't get to go away. We're using Aquaphor, Butt Paste, and sun through the window when we can (she doesn't stay still long enough). We do cloth diapers and change her frequently to get the wet off, but they're not healing. Any recommendations?! Thanks so much!

How Do I Get My 4 Month Old to Feed from the Bottle?

My 4 month old daughter is too used to the breast and will not feed from the bottle. When we try and give it to her, she fusses, screams and cries until we give her the breast. We've even tried Avent, Dr. Brown, Nuk, etc nipples to see which one is closest to the real thing. We've even tried feeding her with the bottle in the morning when she is the most hungry but that doesn't work either. Will she get better if I start feeding her rice cereal? This makes it really hard to leave her with a babysitter. Any suggestions would be greatly...
