How to Dress Her Giant Cloth Diaper Butt?

Hello. Here's a completely not life-or-death question. My 3 1/2 month old just went up a size in cloth diapers and covers. She was comfortably wearing 3 month sizes, but now her rump (and front too frankly) are so bulbous that I'm pulling open my box of 6-9 month hand-me-downs just to find an outfit that sort of fits her. Right now she's in something with very long sleeves, but the middle fits. For the diapers, I am using Snappis so the diaper itself is pretty snug. There is fabric I have to fold over in front and the cover itself...

Will She Ever Slow down Her Growth?

I have a 5 1/2month old that has always been at the top of the charts for weight and high for head and height. She is 23 1/2 pounds at 5 1/2 months, 27 inches. She has grown from 19 pounds, 25 inches at her 4 month checkup! The doctor said she would likely taper off soon, but he has said that each visit and that she would probaby only gain 1-2 pounds in a month if even that much. She is gaining 3-4 each month. She doubled her birth weight by 2 1/2 months. She seems happy and is hitting her milestones early or on time. Both of her...

What's a Item You Used for Your Baby That You Couldn't Live Without??

HI MAMMA'S! I'm a soon-to-be 1st time gramma and wanted to make sure my daughter had some great things to help her transition into parenthood with the new baby. Is there something you received as a gift or bought yourself that really helped your sanity those first few months?? I bought her a cotton swaddler for the baby from target as I hear that swaddling is the thing to do to help a baby sleep better. (wish I would have known that back when she was little.. I wrapped her in a blanket but it wasn't like these swaddlers out now.. and...

I Am Looking for ( Big Sister / Big Brother ) T- Shirts for My Children. = )

I am 35 weeks pregnant. I am having my 4th child and my other three kids are SOOOO excited to have a new baby sister. I would love to get them their own ( Big Sister / Big Brother ) T- shirts. Where would I go to get them. I am on full bed rest. And as of three days ago on Monday, I was 75% effaced and dilated to 2 cm's. Is there a wonderful site online that I can order from or a place in the mall. Does anyone have a good idea of what I should do or where I should look. Thanks mama's.

I'm Drowning in PAPER -- What Do I Keep???

I just had my 4th baby in May, but I'm still in a nesting phase. I look around my house and I see paper EVERYWHERE! I just want to toss everything but not sure if that's the only/best solution. Here are my main problems: 1) Household Bills: How long do I need to keep bills I've paid? Just until I get the new bill to see if it was applied? 2) Receipts: What's a good way to store receipts until I verify they were applied to bank account/credit card? What about receipts I want to keep for a while in case I need to return...

8 Mo Old Will Not Drink Juice

I need some help. My 8mo old boy will not drink water or juice. His doctors nurse is making me feel like a horrible mother, because i can"t get him to drink juice. He has not had a bowel movement in 7 days and the nurse insist he has to drink juice due to the sugar. I need some suggestions on how to get him to drink juice or other suggestions on how to regulate him for the future. (We have an appointment today to talk to the doctor)

Starting over with Cloth Diapers

Hi moms! I am due with my second child in January and really want to use cloth diapers. I did with my first for about two months--not much. But this time, I'll be home full time and really want to give it a try. I'm not sure where to start, though; the options all seem so overwhelming. How did you choose which diapers to buy: all-in-ones, cover and fastener preferences, etc?

Is Flame-resistant Sleepwear Necessary or Harmful?

I have noticed that many of children's pajamas are flame resistant, so I did some research and found a few instances stating that the chemical that goes into the clothes (and things like couches and mattresses) can be harmful. We do not smoke or have lighters or matches in the house, so I feel that having this chemical in my boys' pajamas is really not necessary. I have been trying to find pajamas that are not flame-resistant, but it has not been easy. My question is 1) am I being too paranoid about this chemical being on my sons' skin...

Could It Be Acid Reflux?

My 1 month old has been very fussy the last couple of weeks, and I'm not sure whats wrong. He hardly naps during the day, but will sleep for 2-3 hours at a time during the night. It also seems like he's constantly hungry, so I nurse him every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I know my milk supply is adequate. Usually halfway through a feeding he'll stiffen up and start to crying really hard, and then do the same after a feeding. This is my first baby, so I don't have much experience. We thought it might be gas, so we started giving him those gas drops. A...

Sleepers with Feet, Size 18 Months

I am wondering which sleepers have worked best for you. I prefer the ones with feet in them, and we do like Carters. The light weight summer ones from The Children's Place have too much pull on them, meaning, my son can crawl right out of them..... What has worked for you, and at what age did you introduce a blanket into their crib? Thanks!!

What's the Deal with Preschool Teachers Not Being Allowed to Apply Sunscreen?

My almost 4 year old's preschool teachers just sent home a note telling us to make sure to slather our kids with sunscreen in the morning when we drop them off because teachers are not legally allowed to put sunscreen on students. When I asked, I was told that the same policy applies for camp this Summer. Does anybody know if this is a 'touching' issue or an 'administration of medication' issue and if there is any way around it (like a permission form to fill out)? My son has pretty pale skin and I'm getting nervous about him getting...

A Different Kid- a Different Set of Potty Training Problems!

My sons finally day trained between 3 1/2 and 4 years old with MUCH effort on everyone's part. So I was just fine to WAIT with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. But no...she clearly is ready as far as knowing when she has peed and pooped because she takes her pull-up off whenever she does. She wears underwear a lot around the house, pull-ups when we go out. I would be fine to put her in underwear all the time and just deal with the accidents, but I have no idea what to do at night. She is still in a crib, which we can convert to a toddler bed, so...

Recommendations on Sleep Sacks/ Wearable Blankets?

My house is 200 years old, and though we have plastic on the Windows and the heat going at 74 degrees, last night it dropped to 62 degrees in my little guys room. I have micro fleece sleepers, and a number of micro fleece sleep sacks... but I need something warmer for him. We are getting a space heater ( nursery friendly) but I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a thicker sleep sack? Something that is blanket thickness...? We've really had a hard time finding anything that isn't micro fleece or light weight.
