Doctors Won't Help My One Year Old with Her Allergies

My daughter just turned 1 last week. She had colic and excema when she was first born. Her pediatrician thought she might have a protein allergy and put her on Nutramigen. We moved to another city and have been through five pediatricians now. Since coming off of Nutramigen and trying solids her excema has come back, she has a constant runny nose and a cough. She scratches so bad she makes her legs bleed. All the doctor's say here is that she has a viral infection. She has had severe symptoms since December and we can get no help. She...

Best Bottles for Gassy Baby

I am using the Playtex Drop-in bottles but my six-week-old has a TON of gas. We switched to soy formula and use gas drops, nothing seems to help. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what bottles if any seemed to help. Thanks! I guess I should update this a little. I appreciate all the great advice. We already have been using Soy Formula (regular formula made her spit up) for a few weeks now. My breasts stopped producing after a few weeks (it happened with my son too). We also use drops at pretty much every feeding. We have...

Where to Find Nutramigen

We're transitioning our micro man onto Nutramigen - much to our financial chagrin! I haven't purchased the stuff in years. Any ideas of where I can get it in the larger powder cans and possibly less expensivly than Stop and Shop? BTW - nursing is not an option - wish to heck it were!

Transitioning from Nutramigen with Milk Protien Allergy

My 10 month old son was diagnosed with milk protein allergy and egg allergy. I am looking ahead to when I will need to transition him off of Nutramigen to some sort of milk. If I weren't so struggling so much financially I would consider keeping him on it for a few more months, but if there is an alternative I can use, I need to try. What can I use in place of nutramigen? The last time I tried to move to another formula I tried Prosorbee, he became horribly constipated from it. He was on the changing table screaming because the bowel...

Nutramigen Ready to Feed or Powdered....

IS NUTRAMIGEN LIQUID DIFFERENT FROM NUTRAMIGEN POWDER? My 1 month old son has acid reflux so spitt up and gas are a Huge deal in my house. Her pedi just switched him to Nutramigen/ rice cereal to help with spitt up and colic. Before he was on similac advance/rice cereal but the liquid kind. I tried the powdered similac advance and it made him spitt up even more. Today I tried the powdered nutramigen and sure enough he spitt up a lot. Is the liquid one any different than the powdered one?

Weening off Nutramigen

I have a 4 month old who has been on Nutramigen since he was 2 months because of bad reflux. He's not lactose intolerant; he just had some gastro issues to work through. I've been told by the doctor that we could start weening him off it around now (it's killing our pocket book)! Has anyone had any experience/advice doing this?

How Do I Get My Daughter to Drink Nutramigen?

Hi all, My daughter has many food intolerances and I have been given Enfamil Nutramigen by the doctor for her to drink. The issue is, she will not drink it because it apparantly tastes really bad! It's fine for now as I'm still breastfeeding, but I really wanted to begin weaning her since I have to restrict my diet so much and it's hard (and it's been 7 months, so I'm pretty sick of the no dairy or soy diet). Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can get her to drink it? Any experiece with this formula? Is there a way to make...
