Your Experience with the Cleanoz

My daughter has a cold and HATES the saline drops and the bulb syringe. Can't say I blame her. But now she has started telling me that she does not like blowing her nose and refuses to do it, or has a fit when I make her.

I am considering getting the Cleanoz (I am expecting again so it wouldn't be just forher), but wanted your opinions before I bought something else she ends up hating.

Thank you!

What can I do next?

We haven't used that particular brand, but we do have a battery-powered nasal aspirator to use on our autistic 2-year old. He has taken to it better than the bulb syringe. It is still sometimes a bit of a fight, but quicker and easier with this than it was before. Good luck.

I don't know about Cleanoz but is she refusing to blow her nose b/c it starts getting raw from the tissues? If so, try Boogie Wipes (I got mine at Walgreens and have been told they are sold at Sam's Club). Seriously, they are AMAZING! They are wet wipes with saline in them so they keep the nose moist while giving them a little whiff of saline. My 18 mo old cries and runs when we wipe his nose with tissues but I had these with his last cold and he actually started begging for the wipes and "blowing" his nose on his own (even when he didn't need to but that's another story...). :)

I have it (well, I have the Bebe Sounds one), and honestly, my son (6 months old now) HATES it (especially the piece that has the long skinny end- it comes w/ two pieces), but it does work. Yes, he fusses and cries, but he gets over it as soon as I'm done.

I LOVE CLEANOZ ASPIRATOR. I bought this product for my daughter who has had horrible time breathing when she gets sick. This product worked perfectly and was able to alleviate my daughters struggling to breathe. All I did was drop a few drops of Cleanoz saline ( preservative free) in her nose to loosen up the snot, and then I used the Cleanoz. It was great. I had to use it a couple more times that day to help her keep breathing well. And the best part was that at the end of the day, I threw away the nozzle. I didn’t have to clean anything! The next day she was still a little congested and so I used a new nozzle piece, and it worked great again. She actually likes it now when I use the Cleanoz. She HATED the bulb syringe and I don’t want to use a disgusting mouth suction device…..

I don't recommend using any of those things. By putting something into the nose you run the risk of damaging and inflaming sensitive tissues within the nose. I recommend running a humidifier with vicks vapor and giving motrin to help with the inflamation that the cold causes within the nasal/sinus cavaties.
