I have also heard good things about Meyer and Crandall (a co-worker went there and really liked them) but I go to Barrington Health Care for Women and have seen Dr. Pines, Dr. Smith and Dr. Herbolsheimer and have had a great experience! I really liked all of them! And Good Sheperd Hospital is a great plae to deliver.

I know you said CL or Barrington.... but I have to make this suggestion anyhow!!!! I go to Dr. Stankevych in McHenry. He is right off of Rt 31 just south of NIMC. He is a great Dr and I will NOT see anyone but him! He has been here for me through cancer, a high risk pregnancy and just regular visits. He is very open, friendly and makes me feel very relaxed- even in the most uncomfortable of positions!

I have been seeing him for 8 years now and am so glad to have found him after failures with my past gyne and an oncologist. He listens and when you say something he will not treat you like you are crazy or a baby or anything. When I say I have excruciating cramps- I have excruciating cramps and he will not say- Ohhhhhh that is not bad! He does not minimize my feelings! When I have called in the middle of the night I always get a call from him or the Nurse Practioner right away. I just can not say enough good things about him!

He also has a great Nurse Prac. who is also a Cert. Midwife. She has been helpful in giving me tips for problems I was having throughout my pregnancy- like migraines! I have seen her a few times but since the cancer and high risk pregnancy I mostly see Dr S.

If you are interested in seeing him his phone number is ###-###-####

Goodluck to you whatever you decide!
Many blessings!

I can speak for myself and three co-workers (we all go there) when I say:

I'm very happy with Lake Barrington Womens Health in well, Lake Barrington. Dr. Tom Meyer and Dr. David Crandall. Dr. Meyer was with me through two miscarriages (and the D&C's) and delivered both of my sons. One of the nurses from the office even stopped in to see me at the hospital with my second son.

Dr. Meyer is very direct with his bedside manner and tells it like it is (something important to me). He's very well respected in the field and the nurses at the hospital have nothing but good things to say about him. More than one has told me that they would want him for delivery of their own child.

Dr. Crandall is the most easy-going doctor I've ever seen. He wears Birkenstocks with his scrubs and seems to always be smiling. He is honest with his thoughts, but a little more gentle than Dr. Meyer.

They also have a nurse practioner (Carolyn) who the girls at the office rave about.

I have to agree with a previous poster...Rebecca Keith of Novas, Dohr, Coll and associates is FANTASTIC! They're all good in the practice (4 women) but Dr. Keith and Dr. Dohr are my favorites. I recommend them to everyone!!!

I've been going to Dr. Randy Zimmerman, located in Barrington by Good Shepherd for about 18 years now. He is very well respected and liked by all, very kind, patient with any and all questions, and an easy going personality. He has delivered 2 of my children and my 3rd on the way. I also enjoy his nursing staff very much, they are very friendly. I live in Huntley but still make the drive out there for my visits...he is that good.

You can go to the website www.midwife.org to find a certified nurse-midwife. I highly recommend midwifery care for well-woman or pregnancy- much more personalized and patient-friendly than OB care.

I've been going to Dr. Dan Pesavento in Barrington for a little over 2 years. He delivered my 2nd child (VBAC) and almost delivered my 3rd (another VBAC). His backup, Dr. Randy Zimmerman, delivered instead (Dr. Dan missed it by less than an hour!). Both are great. Dr. Dan always listens is not quick to jump to interventions, which I like. Dr. Dan is in solo practice but he does have a nurse practioner in his office who can handle gynecological exams/issues. He also is very prompt and has evening hours one night a week, so that's convenient.

There is a clinic in Crystal Lake called Woman to Woman. All the doctors are women and the clinic only serves women. There number is in the book. My girl friend loves the clinic.

I have the PERFECT group of ladies for you. I see Rebecca Keith, but everyone in the office is great. Novas, Dohr, Coll & Associates in Barrington. Their office is right at rte 14 and 59. They have ultrasound right in their office, the nurses are fantastic and considerate, the doctors take their time and tend to your needs, and I never had a problem getting an appointment that fit my schedule. They have a website you can check out.

Oh and they deliver at Good Shepherd Hospital....which I also thought was a great place to have a baby. I heard about these ladies from a friend who had a great experience. I have been reccommending them ever since my first visit in 2006!

Best of Luck to you!

I highly advise against Dr Stankevych and Woman to Woman as I have been to both clincs and so have friends and they are horrible. The hospitals out hwere call Dr Stan Dr Slicer. He has the highest c section ratein the hospital!

I love Dr Mendez out of Huntly he has an office in Woodstock as well.
