Hi,
We're in the Geneva/Batavia area (Western Suburbs of Chicago), and I'm looking for a place to have a birthday party for my daughter who is turning 6 in late March. She wants a Harry Potter themed party, and is into everything, so all suggestions are appreciated. It will be a mix of girls and boys ages 4-7. We did a gymnastics party at Excel, and that was fun, but would like to try something new. I'd rather that it was something interactive, and not just passive like a movie party. I think anything within 20 minutes would be ok with the majority of moms I'm inviting.
THANK YOU!!!
M

My daughter attended some bowling parties at that age that she really enjoyed. Most were at Brunswick Zone so they were able to eat there & play games while waiting for parents to arrive for pickup. She also went to an indoor water park but I know that can be a lot of work/stress for the birthday parent. The gyms or bouncy places seem to be fun for the kids too. She also attended a few roller skating & ice skating parties but, if you have kids who can't skate as well, they can end up standing on the side alone so it ends up being not interactive for everyone. Hope your daughter has a Happy Birthday & a great party!

if she is into harry potter how about a party with games themed to harry potter books. we had one at the library on eola road in aurora. the kids made wands (sticks with flowers and sparkly things and ribbons they wrapped around them). they made potions (koolaids mix ins) and played quidditch (threw balls through hoops) kids came in costumes as their favorite characters. you could have fun with this. make up a game like pin the wand on the wizard etc i think you can rent a room at luigi's on prairie for like $50 if you ordered their pizza's i think its like $5 per kid for pizza and pop buffet. good luck it sounds like a fun day

We just had my daughter's 6th birthday party at Funway in Batavia. That place rocks and the kids all wanted to have their birthday parties there afterwards! You can choose what kind of party you want - bowling, skating, arcade or a mixture of them all. We chose the arcade party, which included glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, bumper cars and the Laser Frenzy (which the boys LOVED). Then you go to their party room and do cake and open presents and my daughter got to go into the ticket blaster for a minute and grab as many tickets she could to get a prize that she was able to choose herself, which she really enjoyed. It was pricy - about $15/kid, but we didn't have TOO many kids so it wasn't too bad. Happy birthday to your daughter!!!

A "paint your own pottery" place.

My daughter, and her friends, LOVED that. When that age.

since you mentioned Harry Potter, I am going to suggest this http://magiquest.com/ - I know it's a hike, sorry, but it would be a COOL party! My daughters and lots of their friends LOVE it.
