Hello ladies quick question for you, my son is 10 1/2 mths old and LOVES pillows lol its the funniest thing. Of course i dont let him sleep with them but he has a pillow pet and if its laying in the floor he will tackle it and lay on it forever its super cute. Also when he sleeps in the bed with us he always ends up scooting up high enough to lay on my pillow. So when did you feel safe to let your babies sleep with pillows. Should I wait until he's in a toddler bed? Or is it safe maybe after 1yr of age ?

almost 2 years old for a real traditional but firm pillow. i would give them a baby pillow from wallgreens it's like a travel pillow very flat and small. Did this for all my kids. I'm a mama of 4
At about 1 year each of my kids got a pillow in the crib. They loved to cuddle with it and eventually started sleeping with it where it belongs. I never kept any toys in the crib, so I wasn't worried about over crowding.
My son just turned 3 and still doesn't have a pillow, although I am thinking of getting him one for his toddler bed. I've just never been comfortable with it before and he sleeps fine without it now.
I was just thinking about this question, because my son also loves pillows and arranges them where he wants them on the living room floor when he watches Elmo haha.
But I was reading that not until after 2 years old are you supposed to. Or if they have transitioned to a toddler bed.
They say if you do want to let them have one, make sure it is small, and very firm to prevent suffocation.
Do what you think is best by your research and decide then.

I don't let my kids have a pillow until they're in the toddler bed.
I waited until my kids were a little older than 2.
I let my kids use a small thin pillow around 15 or 16 months. They loved them. Once they moved to a big bed around 2 they got a regular but still thinner pillow.
Ideally, age 2, but mabey 18 months depending on development. No earlier.
My 10 month LO has a pillow and acutally I just put it in there on Friday night. We use it to prop him up a little bit for his acid reflux and it seems to help out.
I let mine have them from the start.
My kids didn't use a pillow until they were in a bed, which was around 2.5 - 3.
Our daughter was in her own bed at 1 (she could climb her crib like a monkey), so she had pillows and slept with them in her bed.. .
We waited until our boys were over a year old, just to be on the safe side.
I personally don't let my kids have pillows until they are out of the crib. I'm just overly cautious with the crib and how much is in it while my child sleeps. I'd rather be safe than sorry since accidents due tend to happen when too much is placed in a crib for a child to be smothered with.
We gave my girls small pillows -- the travel size ones -- at about a year old. The small pillows were the perfect size for their little heads and didn't take up a ton of space in their cribs. I was comfortable with the small pillows, but not ready for regular sized ones - I worried that my girls could bury their faces in the larger and more plush pillows until they were 2 or 3.
when I moved my son to his big boy bed at 18 months old I gave him a pillow.
