What's Your Dream Car???!!

There were a couple of questions about dream locations and some about cars today - got me to thinking....

what is your dream car - if money was not an object - and you didn't have a concern about the cost of filling the gas tank....what is your dream car?

Now that my boys are older and I don't have to worry about carrying a car seat and opening doors, etc. I want a Suburban..with captains chairs as the middle row....my husband says it's a land yacht...we rented one in 2005 when we went on vacation to Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming - it was WONDERFUL!! lots of room, great gas mileage (yes! you read that right! GREAT! We got 25 mpg running at 75 mph and AC!!!) I would love it in a Patriot Blue (like my Grand Caravan)...but I don't think Chevy makes that color....

So what is your dream car?

What can I do next?

A boat.

I'm not kidding! We live in a location where it would be VERY easy to grocery shop using a waterway. Not to mention some of the beautiful trips we could take.

But you know what they say:
B-ring
O-ut
A-nother
T-housand

So, regardless of gas costs and original cost, we really couldn't afford a *nice* boat right now. A little aluminum skiff? We're not far off.

The one I dream about, they haven't made it yet. My dream car would be one that has a massaging drivers seat, an eject button for backseat drivers and a button that extends the body of my car to drive over other cars in traffic. One that holds the wheel steady on cruise control would also be nice.

Well my first love has always been anything Volvo. I am safety nut, like I am not going to let my kids ride the school bus bc there are no seatbelts...but I digress. So there is this awesome Volvo SUV that I was recently checking out, it's so awesome! So that is my dream car and I fully plan on making that dream a reality!!

Although today we pulled up at a stoplight next to a vintage Rolls-Royce. Wow, was that a beautiful car! I don't know if I'd want to own one (I'd be terrified of my kids spilling stuff in it, or getting door dings!), but I sure had to stop and appreciate the one I saw today.

Jeff's dream car was a Yukon Denli XL. It now sits in our driveway beause it's too expensive for him to drive it to Behtesda daily...he gets to roll in his Prius :). I also take the Prius though when I'm going on long trips - it just makes sense.

I drive Nissan Armada. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! The day we got it we went looking for a mini-van...I'm so glad we went with the SUV instead. All 3 of my kids can open the doors now (the back handles are up higher on the sides) so that's no longer an issue and I love the look, ride, feel, extra's, etc.

Whenever I have to leave it at the shop, I get sad :(. I know that sounds stupid, but I don't prefer to drive the Denali at all. I love MY truck and just feel comfortable in it.

I thought I wanted an Altima badly, but that's what I had last time I didn't have my truck (so maybe October-ish) and I was SO glad to get my truck back!

So we'll go with what I have now :).

I really don't have A dream car. There are a lot of cars that I like the looks of. But usually, I don't think I would be a fan of driving them. I like to be up taller in my SUV... though I do like the smaller sporty cars for looks.

I guess I'd have to say that MY dream car is:

A car that always has a full tank of gas,
and that never needs repairs.

Now, where can I find it?

Honestly, I still have little moments about my (now gone) Cadillac Seville. Sigh. LOVED that car. It was like a part of me.
But truthfully, I really don't attach a lot of importance to any car.
I would happily drive a Gremlin if it was paid for, reliable and ran well.
But Jags are nice.....hunter green with tan leather interior....did I mention heated seats?

I have a Yukon Denali and I LOVE, LOVE it! So, I would probably either get a Yukon Denali XL or a Cadillac Escalade ESV. With 4, soon to be 5, kids, the pickings are kind of slim on a "dream" car that will fit everyone! I have to say though, after having a large SUV, I don't have any desire to drive a little sports car. My husband has his dream car sitting under a cover in the garage (Porsche 911, older) and I feel like there is nothing between us and the road when I ride in it- its not that fun for me. Even after my kids are grown and gone, I think I'll still want to keep a large vehicle.

It's a toss up so how about two since money is no object. A Porsche Panamera. Also a classic car from the late 50s/early 60s with miles of sharp, lean fins. One of those grand old boats with miles of front end and chrome. Think 1960 Lincoln Continental or a 1960/1961 Cadillac DeVille. Now that would be a grocery store trip for sure.

I was driving my dream car until I had to replace it with the very small Flex.
I have a 2000 Full size Conversion van, GMC Savana. The only thing it doesn't have any more is the tv, well it's still there but hasnt' workd in ages.
While downsizing I looked at the Expedition but there wasn't enough room in the back. Yes, I am spoiled rotten. I love my van, we call it Darth Vader. It has 213K, 2nd transmission, 3rd fuel pump, same engine.

I seriously thought about downsizing to a Suburban, but the gas mileage would be the same running around town, same Chevy engine.
OK 25mpg, I'm getting another Vader when the "Ferd" dies.

I love this question! MIne is a genuine classic-the Ford pickup truck. Their is something All-American about it. It's funny, because most people wouldn't think that would be my ideal. It's probably because my great-grandfather had one, and he would take me out when I was very little in it.He lived on a farm, so i always loved looking back and seeing the dust swirl out from under the back of the truck.

I have a Subaru Forester, and I swear by these cars. I love it. I would like the Outback, though. However, I would make sure that it had seat warmers!

I drive my dream car!! I still can't believe it! hubby gave it to me last year for anniversary, bday, etc.

It is a Mercedes SL550, black with light tan (almost white) leather seats, beautiful wood trim on inside, love the butt warmers! The convertible top is up or down in 22 seconds. It is a 2 seater so my heavy shopping days do not happen in my car!

It is super powered, I LOVE driving it.

The down side is some people (usually moms of all people and older men) are really mean and obviously feel threatened by it and underestimate the power of it when they try to cut me off, etc. Pent up anger I guess.
