Hi everyone!

My daughters are going to start shaving this weekend and I was wondering what razors and shaving creams works best for your young ladies? I still use the good old pink bic, but I think that would be too harsh for them. Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

I love using my husband's Mach3 razor with men's shaving cream. Don't use someone else's razor, ie, dad's/jusband's old one. Have her use a new one - sharp is better. I rarely, if ever, have any cuts and many times don't even have time to use shaving cream.

As a teen, dad would use his razors and pass them to us gals... they were perfect... not too sharp and not dull. Hair conditioner is a cheap and good thing to use on your legs. Actually, I was watching Dr. Oz and he suggested olive oil.

Good Morning,

I would try the gillette venus. Those razors are pretty smooth. Although my baby's is not nearly old enough to start shaving yet. I found razors like that with extra cushion in front of the blade to be the most comfortable when I started shaving.

My girl, 13 and oddly hairy, likes Venus, forget who makes it. btw, don't buy shaving cream for either one of us, too pricey and she tends to use WAY too much, we use whatever shampoo is in the shower, less drying than soap.

mine like the one with the soap on it. Big chunky thing, but no soaping up, and few nicks. Can't remember the name.

Oh man....I switched to the schick intuition plus a year or so ago, and I will never go back to my pink bic. I was a cheap razor girl for years....but now this one keeps me from having to purchase shaving cream ever again.
I say sniff all the fragrances- the pomegranate one is great and so is the shea butter one.
Happy shopping!

It seems to be rather unanimous. My girls use Venus as well. They've tried a lot of them but the Venus are the only ones they don't nick themselves with. They don't use shaving cream but a french milled glycerin citrus cleanser. It's gentle, plus they can see their skin while they're shaving. When kids are younger sometimes the thickness of a shaving cream lulls them into a safe feeling and they're not as careful.

My daughter uses the Venus Embrace and likes it. I do buy special shave gel for her.

Venus was a great one. You don't need that super fancy $20 per blade one, but the original is a great one. To save on creams you can use hair conditioner. I've been doing that for years. Just make sure that inbetween each swipe to rinse it out.
