My laptop is only a year old. It is a sony VAIO. Today I was looking at a response I got from my craigslist ad and all of a sudden it froze. I tried control alt delete, turning the power off,...nothing worked. So I closed it and opened it up an hour later and it was completely off. I have the battery charger plugged in and no matter what I do, the computer won't turn back on. It is not the battery and Ive tried plugging th echarger into anoth outlet just to see, but the ocmputer still won't turn on.
What is wrong with it???
Does anyone know somewhere cheap I can take it to be fixed?

If you're still having problems call Allen from www.WeSpeakPC.com ###-###-#### in case your laptop takes a while to load the page). A LOT more affordable then Geek Squad and very reliable.

Take the battery out(without the computer being plugged in to wall) then put it back in and it should reboot.
The battery is in underneath at the base in a little panel that should have a lock and release tab.

I agree with the first post. Remove the battery then try.

If all else fails, we have had great experience with Best Buy. We had an HP computer the saved and they have worked on 2 Dell Computers for us. You always have to pay for diagnosis which is around $100 but that is applied to the repair.

We have a desktop that has been repaired 2 times by ICS in Plano.

Good luck, I know it is frustrating. Hopefully it's just a glitch. When you do get it going, make sure to run your virus/spy cleaner.

I've never seen a "cheap" repair.

Good luck

Whether it's under warranty or not, you can call Sony. If it's not under warranty, I think they charge you to talk to them...possibly about $40 or so.

If not, call the Geek Squad @ Best Buy. Honestly, I don't think any computer repair is cheap. lol
