Weird Al Speaks to the Illiterate Trolls....

It is a parody of Blurred Lines.

If you can't write in the proper way
If you don't know how to conjugate
Maybe you flunked that class
And maybe now you find
That people mock you online

God I love Weird Al

Anyone else following his video releases this week?

Talkstotrees, did you see Handy? I made my coworkers watch that one!

Kristen, my oldest son's ringtone, when he calls me, is white and nerdy. That is just one thing I love about Al, I loved him as a teen, my kids love him too. Now if my future grandkids like him I may start getting worried.

Too bad the illiterate trolls probably aren't able to understand his lines... I doubt that 'conjugate' is in their vocabulary :)

Thanks for bringing these songs and Weird Al to my attention--it's been a long time. My 8 year old daughter definitely enjoyed the 'Girls Just Want to Have Lunch' video. I think it would be wonderful if the following generations appreciate Weird Al. Good humor is ageless (consider the Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin...).

I saw them and they are hilarious!
I've been a big Weird Al fan since collage days.
My collage had 3 campuses that had buses you could take between them.
Once I was riding one (full bus - standing room only) when everyone spontaneously broke into singing 'Another One Rides the Bus'.
He DOES seem to be aging well (but I miss his mustache).

I think the message found in "Word Crimes" is far more enjoyable to hear than "Blurred Lines!" I love "Weird Al."

I love Weird Al too. On the White and Nerdy video, that's Donny Osmond dancing with him. Just watched the interview with Weird Al linked below -- does that guy ever age? He looks exactly the same.

Yes, it's funny though, I'm so out of touch with what the kids are listening to these days that I'm going to have to search out the original songs.

I've always loved Weird Al, and will likely show Kiddo both Beat It and Eat It sometime soon. (did--- he thought they were both funny, go figure) Al's a good example of how talent can be so fleeting that unless you really have a good schtick, you get your fifteen minutes of fame and that's it. I think he's had at least an hour or so.... ;)

And if you listen to this interview, it's amazing that he somehow landed a 30 year recording contract in a business which is known for the big chew'em up and spit'em out treatment:

It's the video at the bottom, so scroll down. He's the kind of guy you would want at your party because he's so darn interesting.

And it was kinda cool to hear Kiddo singing "Word Crimes! I hate those word crimes..." at the park today. I think he takes after his mom on that one...

I was a fan of his years ago and I'm happy to see him back in the public eye taking on what I think is a huge problem - illiteracy among people who think they are literate. I'm not the grammar police and I do understand that there is a role for incomplete sentences - in advertising, for example. But the ability to communicate is so lost in so many areas, it's ridiculous. So it's good to laugh at it and to know that someone can raise awareness in a funny way.

My favorite of his "pet peeves" is "I could care less" which means that you DO care. That one drives me nuts!

I've been trying to. love them, always think how he could make up a mock of a song when it comes out. And glad he is doing it again. So many opportunities! I tried to watch the Foil video but I had trouble loading it.
