Washing Machine Causing Stains? HELP!

This sounds like an oily stain. It could be from your detergent. I'm not familiar with Charlies Soap but if it has a fat base which is what a soap has I suggest it's the detergent. Fabric softeners can also leave oily spots.

I don't think there is any way for the machine to leak oil into the drum.

I'd try using a regular detergent and see if that helps.

To get rid of the oil spots rub with Dawn dishwashing detergent and rewash. I've also been able to get rid of them with a prewash stain removal spray.

I agree with Marda. I used to get these spots from my liquid fabric softener when I used the Downy ball in my op loader. I would treat them with dish soap and rewash, but it was really annoying. Try a different detergent.

I had the same problem. Something in your washer is leaking oil. Have a repairman check it out.

Are you sure the stains are coming from the washer? I used to get those oily-type stains on polyester blouses, and discovered that they were caused by fabric softening sheets in the dryer.

Do you have an automatic fabric softener dispenser? A softener build-up on the dispenser can result in spots on your clothes. Clean the dispenser frequently. However, these spots usually come out when relaundered, so if your spots aren't coming out, it could be an oil leak problem.

Those sound like oil stains. A drop of dawn on the stain will take it out. I have the exact same machine and use the exact same soap (2 scoops charlies + 1 scoop charlie's hard water conditioner because we have hard water), but I haven't had the issue with oil stains except for when one of my kiddos drops something oily on their clothes or if my husband's clothes have a bit of oil or grease on them. In the latter case, that grease can spread around to other clothes. It's a major bummer because you can't tell the stains are there until they are dried! But dawn takes them out. Just the plain, blue dawn. Just be sure you rinse it out before re-washing because of the suds.

I once had a washer break. The seal broke between the motor and the water somehow so the oil in the motor was leaking in to the washer during the cycle. All my clothes were ruined because I didn't notice them and didn't know what was wrong. Hubby had seen it before so we had a repairman come fix it.
