My daughter turns 4 tomorrow and I thought I'd paint a birthday cake on the storm door for her. The paint markers are too faint (our wood door is black) so I was thinking about using *washable poster paint.* Has anyone done this? I'm figuring that between glass cleaner and a paint scaper, it would come off, but I'd like a little more info before I commit.
I'd hate to be looking at my artwork for the next 10 birthdays!
To be on the safe side, I added a bit of dish soap (not much like a teaspoon to 3/4 cup of paint) to the paint that I used and despite being in full south sun it all came off with water!
After letting it sit for four days (time between actual BD and celebrating it with family), I generously spritzed it with water and let it soften the paint before wiping it off with papertowels. Areas that had thicker paint took a bit longer but it came off with some elbow grease and cleaned up beautifully with glass cleaner.
I also used a window marker to outline my design first, which made things easier to paint.

our patio floor still has "washable, non-toxic finger paint" from about 3 years ago.... it dried and that's it... it's not coming off. Good luck! ~C.~
I paint windows as a side job around the holidays - I use the inexpensive craft paint found at Wal-Mart, etc. for about $1 a bottle. It is very easy to remove (Windex and paper towel - at the very most a razor blade) - gloss is harder to remove, though not impossible! Hope this helps! :)
We used to paint the windows at the day care all the time, but I do NOT know what kind of paint it was. I DO remember using permanent marker to draw out the designs and it comes off (go figure). [shrug]
I used to use plain Windex to remove it. You can get a set of permanent markers in several colors. Test it in a corner on each color first (I don't know if any of the colors had trouble coming off or not).

what about colored chalk?
Isn't there car window paints? What is it that everyone uses in High School to paint each others cars. Sorry I wasn't more help but hopefully it will spark some kind of idea...have fun, this is a great idea.
