Mamas,

I am looking for a good location to go for long walks with my 8 weeks old daughter. I am hesitant to go along roads in my neighborhood since there is fast moving traffic and I am afraid for our safety. Does anybody know of a good park or area with paved trails to get some exercise?? This is my first child and I could use some tips on how you all manage to get your exercise in! :)

What can I do next?

Hello S.,
The trails around Lake Chabot, in Castro Valley are nice. I have used a sroller there with out a problem and the view ofthe lake is nice from many angles.

I liked walking at Lake Chabot off of Lake Chabot Road in Castro Valley. If you cross over to the side of the lake by the hills, the trail is paved for a couple miles and is stroller friendly. There are couple steeper sections, but over all, much easier with a stroller than the other side of the lake.

I also really liked going to long walks when my baby was about that age! We both got some fresh air while I got some exercise. Even better is when a friend would join us.

Have fun!

M.

The San Leandro Marina? Not sure where you are in Hayward, but the marina is nice and there is often a cool breeze which can be good in summer.
