Vegan Cake for Birthday Party

My son is allergic to milk protien and eggs. His birthday is next week, and I wanted to have a family party for him - about 30 people. Does anyone know where I can order a cake suitable for a 3 year old with these restrictions? We're closest to the east side of Pittsburgh. I usually follow a vegan recipe for him but don't have the right tools for a larger cake. Also, we got his cake from the east end food coop last year. It tasted very good but was completely plain. They gave it to me in a deep aluminum pan and it had no flair. Of course my son would love to have Lightning McQueen or Thomas or at least some sprinkles and his name on the cake. Any ideas would be so appreciated!

So What Happened?

We ordered the cake from Wholefoods. It came in a cake box and was decorated with balloons and writing. The cake looked beautiful. It was half vanilla and half chocolate layer cake. The vanilla cake was tasty but very dry. It had the consistancy of cornbread. The rest was good, but not as good as the coop's cake. (Still, I will not be ordering another cake that comes in a lasagna pan for an event.) I think I might have to buy the right cake pans and icing tools to make my own sheet cakes from now on.

I'm sure that you've thought of this, but how about asking the bakery people at Whole Foods in Shadyside/East Liberty. They are great at accomodating dietary restrictions. :)

I second Whole Foods. We got cupcakes from there for my daughter's first birthday (also no egg) and they were really good, and BEAUTIFUL too.
