I am looking for ideas for beach vacations for July. We went to Florida last year and my son absolutely loved it. I wanted to get suggestions for other beach vacations. I'm open to anywhere... if you've had an exceptional vacation, please let me know where you went and where you stayed.

I'm always open to other vacation ideas. If you've gone somewhere that is a "must do" - please let me know that as well. My son is going to be 5 this summer.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Kauai, HI

It's one of the smaller islands, but the beaches are amazing. Because they are coral bound, the shell searching is not great but you get great pools for kids. The fish are amazing for snorkeling.

Our favorite vacations were in Maui. We stayed at a beautiful Marriott resort at Ka'anapoli, visited Lahania often, went on whale watch excursions, luau.....WONDERFUL times. We've been 3 times.

Another favorite for family is Sandestin, FL. Just outside Destin. We are actually flying there tomorrow for the rest of spring break. We LOVE the Hilton Sandestin Spa and Golf resort. It is in a gated community. Our now 15 yr old always takes a friend, we get a suite (just slightly larger room with a smaller separate area for children). There is a lot to do. This will be our 4th trip....it is becoming an annual thing.

Lastly, South Beach in Miami but it is NOT family friendly. I LOVE this place and I go about once every other year. It is NOT for children and I would not take my 15 yr old there. It is a party place, see lots of celebs, very open minded people, topless beach, etc...you get the picture...not for kids.

Enjoy!!

The Deleware Coast beaches, just south of Ocean City Maryland are great. You can find houses/condos to rent on VRBO.com. Great water parks in Ocean city, less commercial boardwards in Bethany and Rehoboth. Very family friendly and only about a 6 hr drive.
