ugh...This isn's a So What Happened comment, this is a PLEASE HELP request...AGAIN. Well, I was all excited about planning my twin's birthday party and today, when I dropped them off at their babysitter, I received an invitation to one of the girl's b-day party. And guess what, it is planned for the same day as my kids. But the thing is, MAY 10th is their actual BIRTH DATE. My family has already planned around that day, but if I send out invitations at school, for that same day, I feel like I would be trying to compete with who is coming to who's party at school. And MAN, she is quite ahead of the game (3+ weeks away?!?)
Ok, there's the scoop! So do I just plan my party around her's so that everyone can make both? OR Do I do my original plans? The kids there are the majority of my kids friends. Any suggestions????

What can I do next?

Just so you know - Sunday the 11th is Mother's Day - so although the one responders idea is a good one - unfortunately it leaves you in a worse spot because then no one will come. I would suggest changing the date as much as it stinks. I would think that people have already started RSVP'ing to the other party and probably won't change their mind. I had a similar issue last year and I did the same thing...it was a hassle but we did it and we had LOTS of kids show up for his special day! I am probably a lot like the other kids mom and I send out invites VERY early because it seems like everyone's life is so busy that people need a lot of advance notice. Good luck!

I would recommend planning your boys' party for a different time during the day. That way, their party won't conflict and you will still have the party on the day of your 1st choice!

Just have the party--if only family shows...the babies will not even notice.

Hi R.,

Can you plan your party for Sunday the 11th? Maybe do a Waffles and Ice Cream birthday in the late morning so if you have family coming in from out of town, they can still partake in a party. And on the 10th do something special with just the Birthday Kids. This way hopefully all the kids in school can come to both parties and nobody will feel like they're competing with the other.

Good luck!

Hi!
I have twins too!!! mine are boys, born May 2, they will be 6 this year. I'm sending out their invites out today for their party on the 3rd of May. That mom is ahead of the ball, 2 weeks is proper, if it's 3 or more I forget. I would keep the twins party the same day just make it for a different time and everything should workout. Good Luck.

Pick another time. Don't make the kids pick, plus, if she's already gotten hers out, people will start RSVPing and then you run the risk of hurt feelings for your children. It's not a big deal to have it ON their birthday (we never do, and we have twins too)....it's just a big deal to have a party for them.
