LO just woke up this am with a small rash on his tummy ,,, you can barely see it, but you can feel it. It's only on his tummy. We're all fighting this diarrhea, cough, congestion virus going around and he's had a low grade fever (as we all have) for a couple of days. Not sure what this rash is and we'll watch it, but the peds office is closed, so thought I'd check in its y'all. Any ideas? It doesn't seem to be bothering him and he's still playing, eating, and drinking.

What a way to spend our anniversary .... All of us sick ....

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies. I felt like it was related to the virus, but wasnt sure and DH was freaking out, 'cause LO had peanut butter for the first time yesterday and he thought the rash was the reaction ..... Even though the ped said it would be within 20 minutes and it was nearly 20 hours. We'll watch it and call the ped on Monday if it's still there. Have Benadryl on hand already ... Just in case. Thanks again!

It's probably a viral rash. Most times the rash with present at the end of the illness. There are a few summer viruses that come with rash. I am sure it will pass, you can try an Aveeno bath if it is itchy, and ask the doc if Benedryl is necessary. It should pass within a day or two.

my first thought was eczema. if it's not red or oozy it might also just be some dry skin. have you tried putting a good moisturizer on it?

could be strep-check it out-there's always the weekend to celebrate-take care-for the grownups-invest in Pepto-it is effective for surrounding the organism and carrying it out of the body-not to be indelicate!
