Hi Moms, Not sure how this works...do we need cash or do they just add to our bill at the end of our stay? This is a company paid trip by my husbands company if that makes a difference. Thanks moms!!!!

No, it doesn't make a difference (well--it's free for you!) so TIP, TIP often and tip well! It's sad, really, what these service people are paid.

We have been to several all-inclusive resorts and we always tip for good service. We tip at the dinners, bar, and for maid service. Each day we would leave anywhere between $3 to $5 a day for maid service and tip $1 to $2 per drink at the bar. The people who work there don't make a lot of money and most of them work really hard. I always found they really appreciated when you tipped them and they provided great service to us.

Have a great time on your trip.

Call ahead and find out the resort's policy.

They do not add gratuity at the end b/c the staffers are paid and it's "all included". Having said that, when we did an "inclusive" vacation we brought cash for some tipping at the bar and the housekeeper. You would be amazed at how quickly you get service (and even have your drinks waiting when the see you coming) and how many extra towels and shampoos you will get for showing your gratitude monitarily!

We bought cash and tipped, just not everywhere. Mostly we tipped bartenders, if we went to one of the restaurants with wait service, at the spa, and maid service. We didn't tip at buffets and at the resort we stayed in they had drivers in golf carts take you around, we didn't tip them either.

If you go to the forums on www.tripadvisor.com, and look for your location/resort, I bet the answer is there. The forums are really active and specific.

The all inclusive resorts that i've been to, you don't need to tip. In fact they told us that tipping was discouraged. Call the resort, but I don't think you'll need to worry about tipping.

We travel alot to all inclusive resorts in Mexico. If we stay at a smaller resort and have the same servers everyday, we tip at the end of the stay. At the large ones we only tip if someone goes out of their way to help. We ALWAYS tip housekeeping though. Have Fun!!

You probably will not need to nor will they accept it.

My husband and I went to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica and they had a very strict "no-tip" policy. As we arrived, our host informed us that they cannot and will not accept any tips. The bellhops, the bartenders, the servers - none of them would accept tips. I'm not trying to be cheap; as a former service employee who depended on tips, I tend to give 20%.

Maybe check with the resort ahead of time.

I have been to plenty of all inclusive resorts and we always tip no matter what. The awesome people that work there get paid such little and always go out of their ways for us so we tip, tip, tip. It is always good to have some cash on you for bartenders, spa staff, housekeeping, concierge and etc. Have fun!

Since people are giving opposite answers, I'd call the resort. The all inclusive we just went to allowed tipping for sure and we did a lot. As someone said, since this trip is paid for, you can be really generous as if the resort does allow tipping, likely the people working there really need the tips. Their paid wages may take into account tips and therefore be really low so the staff relies on tips. And tipping certainly got us fantastic service!

The trips we've taken to Mexico included gratuities in the all-inclusive. Check first to see if yours does, too. If not, you add tips each time you dine. It doesn't get added at the end.

I asked this question a few months back and got a variety of answers. Some resorts will have a "no-tip" policy, and if that is the case where you are going, then don't tip. Otherwise, I think it's just personal choice. I suppose that technically, "all-inclusive" means you don't have to tip. My husband did not tip on our vacation. I did tip the bartenders, because I felt guilty not tipping. They accepted my tip with big happy smiles because I'm sure they don't get tipped very often. We did not get poor service when my husband didn't tip, or noticeably better service when I did tip. I just felt better about myself after tipping.

We do this in Puerto Vallarta often. We tip always and we tip nicely. Everyone remembers us year to year and really, it's not much out of pocket. American dollars are ALWAYS welcome. A buck a drink or two, five at dinner and a few buck per day for housekeeping- They all deserve it!!
