Strollers at Disney World

I would get two of the $20 umbrella strollers. On some airlines they can fit in the overhead bin, the fold up small, and much cheaper than renting. I would be worried about a double stroller because of the crowds and they are harder to move around. I know people that buy the umbrella strollers when they get to their destination and then leave them in the hotels to be donated. Also, the kids can get in and out of them by themselves.

Since you have to leave your stroller outside at most attractions I always rented one because there is no way to secure it. I have come off of a ride to find the stroller I had was taken so I had to use a different one but it was better than having mine stolen.

I would take what ever stroller you feel comfortable pushing around empty! I always took a stroller with me when we would go to the zoo or an amusment park, but it usally held the diaper bag after the first 10 mins.
My kids prefered the wagons/strollers that were rented at the park/zoo and would climb in and out of them throughout the day. Maybe a small umbrella stroller that they could take turns in, or just rent one when you/they are ready to sit down for a while.

We just went to sea world and we rented 2 of their single strollers but they did offer double just figured if they get hot and cranky 2 would stop some of the fussing between them. I did not want to take mine cause yes people will walk off with your stroller. If you rent theirs and someone walks off with it you can just show your receipt and get another plus you do not have the mess of the day in yours and if it gets to hot we poured some water in the bottom for the kids to splash in to cool down. Well worth the 10 dollars a day

I would recommend renting one especially if you are staying on Disney property and going to ride around on the buses. Strollers are very difficult to get on and off crowded buses. It's much easier to get on them just holding your child if necessary. What ever you do have a blast. We where there in July and loved it.

We took our Sit-n-Stand and loved it. But yea, it was sometimes hard to fold up after a long day. It DID fit on the tram, though! Yea! :) I don't know how a double jogger would fit. The trams are a little tight in seating, especially in the Summer. (We always go off-season, since we home school.) I'd take two umbrella strollers, if possible...just get at Kid-to-Kid or second-hand...or see if you can borrow from two friends! You could even offer to bring them something from WDW like an imprinted coin or lollipop or something. :)

We just went in Feb and have 2 boys same ages...Anyways..we took 2 umbrella strollers and I am glad we did! The crowds make it hard to get around in the Magic Kingdom and if I would have had a bigger stroller it would have been hard to move. If you can split them up I recomend it. Also if you are using the bus system at all it makes it much easier to get in and out quickly.

I second Victoria. Buy some cheap umbrella strollers. 8 am at WDW right now. The single strollers are $15 a day at the double which are hard to move are $20 a day. And FYI 90% of the ride and attractions you will have to leave your strollers outside and sometimes a good way sways. Prob better to have your own so no one just takes it and of course save lots of money!!!

Take your nice stroller on the trip with you for the airport and anything else you might like to do, but while at Disney, rent their strollers and leave yours at the hotel. As mentioned before you'll have to leave your stroller outside some attractions and there is no way to secure it. I would think people would be more likely to take a nice stroller that's unattended. Be sure to take your purchases into the show with you so they won't "walk off". There is no staff watching those stroller parking areas. Water bottles and stuff are fine to leave, but not packages. We always made our main purchases towards the end of our day, or at least after the shows that we wanted to see. The Disney strollers have mesh pockets on the back that's good for holding things. Also as someone else mentioned, tie a ribbon or something on the handle of your stroller so it's easy to identify in the parking lot of blue strollers! Have a great trip!

We went in February and stayed at a Disney Resort for 6 nights. We rented a stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals and were very happy. It is $85 for 4-7 nights, which is the same or cheaper (5+ nights) than the $20 per day for the Disney doubles. Some things to think about--the stroller was at our resort upon check-in at the luggage stand, and you leave it in the same spot when you check-out. If you are staying at a WDW resort, the grounds can be LARGE!!, and you'll love having a stroller to use at the resort. Also, it's still a good haul from the stroller drop-offs in the parks to the transportation to get you to your resort. Nothing worse than you being tired and having to carry your tired children after a day in the parks. We had no problem folding up the stroller for the bus rides. I saw lots of umbrella strollers (like in the other response) but my kids are too big for them, and I would think a 5 year old would not fit. My girls were 3 and 5 1/2 at the time of the trip. We went in February and purchased the "Sit n' Stand" before the trip. We loved having it and it was great to use at the hotel. The disadvantage with renting is that you have to wait in line and you can not take it down to the bus area if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels and your kids are tuckered out. My son(4) loved haing the option to stand or sit whenever he felt like it. It's pretty roomy, easy to transport and fold.

I would rent. We've been to Disney numerous times and when daughter was young, the rentals worked best for us.

Your double jogger may or may not be too wide for the lines. I know that my Chicco double side by side will work fine but not sure about a jogger. Also it might be a bugger if you need to jump a bus for transport. Something you should consider in renting one, you may want/need one to get to the car. If you rent, you won't have one to do that with after the day is spent and so are the kiddos. I would suggest a lite double or two single umbrella strollers for your trip. You can zip strip or bungee cord the folded on onto the other when only one is in use. You can also buy the bag attachment to put on the back of the umbrella strollers if you would like at Babies r Us.

Also whatever you decide to take, remember to tie something like a ribbon or scarf onto the handle so it's easier to spot among the many others that will be by yours.

A good friend of mine just got back and took her 2 kids (ages 5 and 1 1/2) and rented one of the strollers there at Disney World-- said it worked out great!
