Hi! My sweet little boy has had increasingly stinky feet for the past couple of years. At first it was just a summer thing...when he would wear shoes with no socks. Now it seems to be every day. He will wear shoes and socks, sandals, doesn't matter. It's making me gag! I can't imagine why his cute little feet smell soooooooo much! Any ideas what I can do about that?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies! Bought some foot spray today and last night I put baking powder in his shoes. Although this morning he managed to find a pair of shoes I didn't get any in and wore those.... I'm going to look into new shoes, too. His mostly come from Target and Payless, so maybe we need a little higher quality shoe to get rid of the plastic.
Thanks again!

Be sure that he wears shoes that breathe. Canvas ones are best because you can wash them frequently. Do not put him in shoes made of man made materials instead of leather. If they're not fabric they're plastic and will cause his feet to sweat, trapping in the moisture which then becomes stinky.

In addition to using baking soda in his shoes you could also try powdering his feet with it before he puts on his socks. I think there are also some powders that help with perspiration and odor. Ask at a shoe store or look in the foot care section of a drug store.

I've also heard of people applying an antiperspirant to their feet.

Uugh! I have the same problem with my 10 year old son and it just started getting really bad. I am going to wash his shoes really good and make sure he washes his feet well. I am also going to try a tip I heard from Dr. Oz.........to soak the feet in hot water(hot as you can stand) that has tea bags soaking in it. The tannins from the tea are supposed to do something to the pores in the feet.
I hope it works! Good luck to you too!

My son went through this. I learned to embrace the anti fungal foot sprays.

Feet got sprayed after every bath and every morning. Shoes got sprayed each day also. He also had to rotate two pairs of shoes.

Socks got bleached weekly also.

It helped.

He really needs to make sure he has more than one pair of shoes.. Ideal would be 2 pairs of tennis shoes.

Shoes need to dry and air out completely every night.

Make sure is really wearing a new pair of socks each day (I am sure he does)

Also for the next few evenings. Dr. Oz Suggests.. Soaking stinky feet in black tea.. It really works.!

Home Remedy For Foot Odor

Apparently, the secret for really smelly feet is to simply dry them out.
One of the best ways to do that is to soak your feet in tea.
Yep, Dr. Oz said to take some tea bags, place them in a bowl of lukewarm water. You’re supposed to let your feet soak in that for 30 minutes each day for a week.

Then each day, have him spray use deodorant on his feet.

I have heard using any type of soap on the feet actually makes it worse as weird as that sounds. I had my son stop using soap on his feet and it actually works. We haven't had the stinky foot problem for a year or so.
