Staar Test Prep for 5Th Grader

I was looking for a tutor for my daughter for reading and found a few websites that offered tutor locating. I was reading the reviews on the different tutors and was going to start calling for availability. One of the ice skating moms shared with me that her daughter went to Kumon and it was only $95/month. I made an appointment and liked what I heard. It is 4 months later and my daughter left kindergarten reading like a robot to now being in 2nd grade and reading at her grade level. The program agreement lasts a year, so when the year is up, I plan to talk to the instructor about switching her from reading to math and perhaps back and forth.

If she is at her grade level now, I am curious as to where she will be in another 8 months.

The reading program doesn't only cover reading, but language arts as well. So far, I have been pleased with the program and the progress my daughter has made.

A good place to start a tutor search is the school guidance counselor. A lot of teachers tutor on the side and guidance counselor a are a good resource for that.

Around here, academic tutors usually run $50/hour and they meet at the public library or at a tutor's home.

As far as th eastward test, there's really no studying for it. It is making sure the students know the basic functions if math. Also. You can print these tests online for practice.
