Hi! I was just wondering if anyone does any fun activities for St Patrick's Day?? I have a neighbor who kind of puts things out of place in their house. Is there like some story that goes behind the messing up of the house, or do any of you have other ideas or stories??

Thanks so much! Have a great day!

Sometimes, the Leprechans visit our home. They put all of our chairs upside down or move furniture around. One time they moved our sons bed to the middle of his room while he slept! He usually drop small shiny shamrocks when he leaves and sometimes play coins too! You have to be very lucky for them to visit. They only choose a few homes each year and they don't always visit the same place twice in a row. You can invite hem by putting something shiny by the front door before you go to bed. Have fun!

HI K.--At our house the leprechaun comes and just makes a mess of things--tips over the chairs etc. we're always on the verge of "catching" him so he drops all of his gold coins which turn into chocolate! My boys have been looking forward to it for a few weeks now. My 4 year old said, "I hope he doesn't pull all of the books out of the library--that would be a real mess!!" Have fun!

Hi K.

My mom used to "paint on toast" for all the holidays around our house and Ive started it with my 16mo old, she loves it. What is "painting on toast"?...Well, you take a piece of bread, an egg white, add your choice of food color to the egg white, stir it up, then dip a brush in it and paint what you want on the bread (ie: four leaf clovers), then toast it. When it's toasted you butter it and you have edible artwork! Kids love to do it, or I did it for valentines day as a surprise snack for the first time. My babe loved it!

When I was young my mother colored our milk for the holidays ( with small drops of food coloring). Pink for Valentine's Day, purple(lavendar) for Easter, green for St. Patrick's Day, etc. We were with my great grandmother for one St Patricks Day, had the traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage and to our surprise there was a silver dollar under our plate. Not sure what the story is for that though.
