Spotting - North Scituate,RI

I am about a week late. I had an inconclusive home pregnancy test & blood test. My doctor said it may be too early and my levles aren't high enough yet. Anyway, I started spotting yesterday. Not heavy but varrying from bright red to brown. Some cramping, but not bad. I have to wait to Monday to repeat the blood test. So, I'm just wondering if any moms have had spotting early on that didn't result in a miscarriage? I had spotting once around month six with my daughter, but it was brief & light and turned out to be nothing. I had no spotting with my son. I'm obviously concerned, but trying not to worry too much about it. Since my tests where not positive or negitive, I'm kinda hanging out in limbo. Thanks.

What can I do next?

My first on I spotted the entire time - if i did too much, I spotted. It was not fun and very worrisome.

My second - I spotted in the beginning - thought I was getting my period that just wouldn't start and after two weeks, took a test and was preggo (I wasn't TTC so I wasn't thinking I was since I was on the pill).

My third - no spotting.

I did have one miscarriage . . . I was 11 weeks though, so the cramping and bleeding was not the beginning cramping and spotting. Did 2 bloodtests a day apart and my levels had dropped so I knew it was coming.

Hi,
It is always worrisome to see spotting, but also normal many times during pregnancy. It doesn't always lead to miscarriage, so don't worry. With both of my pregnancies I had implantation bleeding-a week to ten days after my period should have come when the egg is burrowing itself in your uterus. It can seem like the start of your period-I'm not sure about red, but the blood is dark brown. Could this be what you're experiencing? The cramping could be from this too.
Good luck and wishing you the best!

With my third pregnancy I had spotting on and off for the first two months. Every single time I went to the ER or the doctor (depending on the time of day)...every time the little guy was doing just fine.

I know it's easier said than done, but just take a deep breath and try to relax.

Sorry you are going through this. It may be nothing, but I know that doesn't stop the worrying. It could very well be implantation bleeding - that can be accompanied by cramping. The brown color is just "older" blood that takes a while to work its way out. Inconclusive tests can represent a poor quality test, an early pregnancy with not much hormone yet, or (obviously) a problem. You may just be getting a period late, for whatever reason. Lots of women have spotting during pregnancy which means nothing. I hope it works out for you.
