You can put Sesame Street in the search line and the requested info should come up. Stringing cereal on yarn for necklaces is fun for yung kids and they love eating the fruit loops off too. My boys loved it at a friends birthday party. Good luck!

Try a Google search for "Sesame Street Party Ideas" and you will get a wealth of ideas for games, decorations and websites that sell party supplies at great discount prices. If you order online, buying from another state means no sales tax. This could make up for the shipping cost.

Here are a couple of ideas that would be fun for 2-year old kids:

Big Bird’s Balloon Pop
This is a great game for small children to play and will keep them entertained and laughing. Place a chair in the middle or back of a room where everyone will be able to see what is going on. Blow up brightly colored latex balloons and hand one to each child and have them stand in line. Place the child’s balloon on the chair and tell the child to pop it without using their hands! Show them how to sit on the balloon and make it pop! We did this at one of my birthday parties when I was about 3 and my Mom put a piece of paper inside each helium balloon before she tied it to the back of each of the chairs around the dining room table where we ate lunch and had a cake with the traditional candles. When the game time began each took turns popping our balloon to find out what our prize would be ~ inexpensive age appropriate gifts she had bought at the five & dime. Little puzzles, HotWheel cars, coloring books, Pokemon card sets, etc. can all be bought at your local pharmacy in the toy aisle for under $2 a piece. Everyone gets to have fun popping their balloon, plus they get a party favor to take home. Just remember, if you have gender specific prizes to color code the balloons so you can have the boys receive the HotWheels and the girls receive the Polly Pocket dolls.

Rubber Ducky
Everybody knows that Ernie loves his rubber ducky and even has been known to sing a song or two about his favorite duck! Gather all guests in a circle on the floor to play this this rubber ducky twist to musical chairs! Pop the rubber ducky song into the CD player and have the children
pass the duck around the circle while the music plays. Each time the music stops, that person leaves the circle. The remaining duck holder is the winner and they get to take home the rubber ducky.

Pin the Smile on the Grouch
Make a poster-size grouch at your local service bureau such as KINKO's and tape it to the wall. Make smiles out of construction paper and put double face tape on the back of each one. Blind fold one child at a time. Turn then around a few times before they walk to the wall and place their smile on the grouch poster. The child with the smile that is the closest wins! Or make it a cookie monster and the child who gets the cookie the closest to the mouth wins!

Have fun! You are so lucky to have so many little kid parties to go. Mine are all grown up now and they barely want to have a sleep-over anymore let alone an organized party with games ~ that would be mortifying for their teen sensibilities, plus the toys they want are x-boxes or iPods and they cost an arm and a leg. Oh, to have a two year old again. They are delighted by a simple lollipop, a page of stickers with their favorite Sesame Street characters, or a helium balloon. Joy and laughter at that age can't be contained.

Teens are so busy trying to be cool that they can't be bothered to be impressed by something so "lame". But nothing is more rewarding than surprising your teenager with just the right gift and they let that smile that you know and love creep back onto their face even if it's just for a moment, until they see you looking and... poof the reserved, aloof, and kewl teen-aged demeanor has returned.

The above blog is compiling different ideas that people have done for b-day parties. Basically it is a bunch of links to other people's posts about the b-day parties they have thrown. There are some very cool ideas and photos. Two year olds have pretty short attention spans. I would suggest maybe just have the party at your local toddler playground. That keeps two year olds happy and busy for a long time. :) And it is easy on you clean up too!

Musical papers, played the same as musical chairs but with papers all over the floor. At 2 it's hard for them to get in the chairs and sometimes the chairs tip over, so we just throw papers on the floor, enough for each kid then when the music started we removed a paper and the one without a paper sat out. Ring around the rosies, bing bag toss, making crafts out of food Like snowman marshmellows, decorate a cookie, get the little pumpkins and let them draw on them. (You didn't say when the party was)but a fun sprinkler or kiddie pool, kids love water and you don't need a big pool to have a tiny kid party. Just take big idea's and think about how your daughter can do it, and down size the game.

Remember though: at this age most of them will be to shy to play games and competing isn't in their mind set yet. So the more individual stuff you do the better the kids will do. They'll be board in 10 minutes so you'll need to have everything ready to move straight on to the next item. Make sure a family member video's the party and takes pictures because you won't have time to think about taking pictures until the party is over. By the way if you know some friends that have the little tike picnic tables borrow them they are perfect for arts and crafts and eating pizza and cake. It brings the party down to their size. what fun! lets see, I've had big success with a simple entertainment/activity for two-year-olds. You will need ziplock bags, tape, shaving cream and food color drops. Fill bags about halfway with shaving cream and a couple drops of food color, zip and seal with tape. They love to figure out what colors combine to make another color, and squishing the bags to mix the color around. (You have to tell them not to open the bags.) They will also enjoy stringing stuff together to make necklaces (dry noodles, fruit loops, anything) If you use yarn, just put a piece of tape on the end to use for threading through.

Lets see. You can do musical chairs, pin the tail on the donkey (or maybe they make a pin the tail on big bird), dance freeze, simon says, Also they can play follow my leader. You can also get lots of small bottles of bubbles for them to blow. If you want everyone occupied, you can also put out colouring books and crayons, dress up cloths (this is fun to take photo of all the kids dressed up) Just remember that having plenty of things for them to do is really important.

Our son's birthday party was a Sesame Street theme. I made posters to hang around the room that I drew the characters on. we made a "trash can toss" and used bean bags to toss into Oscar's trash can (I put the character cutout behind it), we had an elmo pinata. An Elmo coloring station. And I made an Elmo cake.

Really, at age 2 you don't need much. My son had 2 friends over and after mac and cheese for lunch, the bean bag toss and pinata, they just wanted to sit and play with toys. They had a ball just doing that.

I also have a little one turning two in couple of months and I am planning to go with the Sesame Street theme as well. It's the only thing she's really in to. I am planning to have Sesame Street Coloring pages and a simple "Make Elmo's Face" craft in which I will have all the shapes needed to create Elmo's face cut out of the right color construction paper ready. All the kids will do is use glue stick to place the shapes onto pieces of construction paper in whatever color they choose. I have a pin the nose on Elmo game ready, and I am planning to use a page I found in a giant Sesame Street coloring book that is just Oscar the Grouch to create a "Toss Oscar the Trash" game. I will color the picture and glue it to cardboard. Then, I will tape it to a medium sized metal trash can and make a sign to put on the front that says "I love trash" a common Oscar saying. I will have about eight of those little green plastic Sprite bottles and the kids will stand a short distance from the trash can and try to throw them in. No winners or losers with any of these activities and games. I don't think two year olds get that concept and it's no fun to have to have someone be out and bored while others are playing. So, I think if you think "activites" more than "games" you can't go wrong. Also, I'm trying to consider mostly what my daughter likes to do to insure that she will have a great time. She loves to color, hence the coloring pages, and she loves the use glue stick, hence the craft idea, and of course, she likes to throw things.

Well, have the party at a park where they can have a lot of room to run and play. Have lots of balloons and bubbles. Lots of helpers with the bubbles, you know how tempermental the small bubble thing is. We got a medium sized and large bubble maker 'thingy' and let Dad or Grampa manage it. Balls, and streamers that you can run with . Easy finger foods and cup cakes and ice cream cones. You want it to be fun for yourself, so keep it simple, and bring in the family to help out. They will love it. I still have my gr grand daughter's first birthday party pictures on the refrigerator and love them every day. C. N.

I just had my son's 3rd birthday party this past Saturday and it was a hit! I have throw a birthday party for my son every year. The 1st year was the big one, all family was invited, we rented a bounce house for that one.

The second party was a Disney CARS theme and we had Lightening McQueen show up. My next door neighbor is a race car driver so he brought one of his cars to the house! I was very lucky.

This past party was Pirates. The kids had a blast and it was the funniest one yet.

At all three parties I did not do games. The 2nd and 3rd birthday was much, much smaller than his first. At his 3rd we only had 10 kiddos there plus the parents. The kids had a blast just playing.

I don't know where you are having the party, parks are great. But we did this one at our house, the kids played on the swingset, the Little Tikes Castle that we have, and a pirate ship (my mom purchased this for my son at Christmas) I gave all the kids a pirate hat and an eye patch. We had enough swords and guns to go around so the kids just played.

They were having so much fun that it was hard to get them to come and do the pinata. Oh, I have had a pinata at all 3 parties.

So, if you have enough toys for the kids to play with you really don't need activities, especially at this age all they want to do is play.

You probably won't be able to get a bunch of 2 y/o's to focus long enough to play a game. Our DD 2 y/o party was Sesame Street also so at that age we just got a bouncer for the backyard and let the kids run around and play. That's all they want to do anyway.

I wouldn't do any games - duck duck goose at the most. Music and some dancing might be fun, a simple craft (very simple), maybe painting with brushes and water on the ground or give them some chalk. You could let them decorate their cupcakes w/sprinkles. At this age, keep it to 1.5 hours, not too many kids, play, cake and presents (if you want) then they'll all be ready to crash! LOL

It depends where you're having it... We just had our daughter's 2nd birthday on sunday and we had it at "under the sea" which is an indoor children's gym. You don't have to do much because the kids all run around by themselves and play. My daughter had the BEST time and didn't want to leave. My daughter is obssessed with all things "The backyardigans" and that was our theme. All the plates, cups, table cloth, happy bday sign, cake, goody bags... etc were all backyardigans theme.

Get or rent a parachute. So many games that a two year old can play with a parachute. Or you can get/make cut outs of the different characters and hide them and then have them play hide and seek for them. You could get the Sesame Street get up and dance video for them to do. Have fun!

For my son's second b-day I just had a big bucket of bubbles with enough wands for everyone, some sidewalk chalk, and cups of water with little paint brushes so they could "paint" the walls and concrete. Also I put up some butcher papre on a couple walls with crayons nearby, and had balloons they could kick around and play with. We obviously had an outdoor party, and there were enough adults around to supervise, but my son and his friends at least had no interest in organized games at that age. It worked out well for us, and there was very little mess to clean up.

One thing I did for my son's party was to print out Sesame Street character coloring pages for the kids to color. I printed out several different ones and then stapled them together so that each kid had a few to color. You should be able to find them by looking up "Sesame Street coloring pages" or something along those lines. If not you could copy pages from a coloring book. You might also find game ideas at pbskids.org under the Sesame Street tab. Good luck!

I say break out the bubbles and play dough...they're two, I don't see much hope for organized, structured games. Save those for later!

Hi Barbara, for my daughters 2nd bday we had a Dora theme @ the park. We got a picnic area near a play ground and they had a ball. One of my relatives printed out a bunch of activites off the internet. She went on the Nick web site and she printed them and just brought kids scissors, crayons and they had alot of fun with these activites too. And of course we had the Pinata. I am sure the Sesame Street web site has plenty of activites for you to print out too. Hope it is a great bday for your daughter...

Forget organized games - at 2, they can't handle instructions. Just have a bunch of fun hands on stuff. Have little sesame street plastic figures buried in a sandbox that they can dig out and play with. Bubbles are always fun. Have a baby pool with sesame street cups and pitchers, strainers and various shapes of pouring things that the kids can enjoy sprinkling on each other. have plain paper bags that they can decorate with stamps and stickers and if you are brave enough to have a pinata (the string kind are easier) then they can collect their treasures in the decorated bags. And a bouncy house if you have the room. Any one or two of those ideas will keep them busy enough to play and have a cupcake and sing happy birthday long enough to call it a party!! Remember, kids melt down after an hour or two of this kind of fun, so I would keep it short and sweet!

For my daughter I made Sesame Street coloring books and got Sesame Street tatoos. I also did a dance contest where they freeze when we shut off the music using a Sesame Street CD.

My daughter's 2nd birthday was by far my favorite - we played musical chairs, pin the tail on the donkey (or Curious George for us), and the kids drew pictures. It was all so simple, and the kids had a blast! The simplicity of it all made me rethink birthday parties in general. We've gone back to the basics, and our parties are a lot of fun. hi, we gave my 2yr old an Elmo birthday party complete with an Elmo bounce house,Elmo party favors,Elmo goodie bags with Elmo treats inside. I located everything online. 2yr olds may not want to play many games, but in case they do I suggest that you watch Sesame Street and implement some of the counting and letter recognition games. The bounce house kept most of the kids occupied. I'd like to know how everything turns out.
