Hello moms! It's finally starting to get a little warmer outside which means it's almost shorts weather! =0) I was wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with a sunless tanning product. I've tried Jergens in the past and wasn't very happy with it. I'd love to find a product that is simple and quick to use and gives an actual brownish/bronze color instead of the usual orange! Any suggestions would be great! Thank you =0)

Hey, Fun question. I have tried a product that Coppertone makes and been wowed. It is a product that is mixed as it comes out and actually colors the skin a bit while you are putting it on for a dummy proof tan. I get nervous about streaks and missing spots, but the instant color prevents these troubles. It gives a great color and if used for days in a row can darken to a nice tan. J. M

I've been using L'Oreal Sublime for a few years. It does great, works fast and with no streaking. I just ran out and ordered St Tropez online and can't wait to try it. It's more expensive ($30) but all the reviews online and a review by Instyle Magazine point to St Tropez as the best. I didn't go with the L'Oreal again because I have the tinted bronzing gel and want to get back to a lotion w/out the tint. I tried the L'Oreal spray one time but didn't like the smell...although it did work well.

Thanks for asking this question. I am a Mary Kay fan and will probably give that a try. Let me know if you find anything really good also, as I am in the same boat. I'll let you know how the Mary Kay works. I plan on contacting my rep now. Oh yeah, and I have some Neutrogena Tanning mist now that I tried last year. Didn't like it...streaked!
Best wishes!

Hi M.
I actually do not have a solution for you, but I've had the same question myself. I have not found a product that gives good results. If you come across one that you like, would you mind emailing me?

Thanks

Last year I bought Neutrogena Instant Bronze Foam and I really like it. The one thing I didn't like was that if I had just put it on and went near moisture or when I washed my hands and water dripped on my legs, it did leave a "white" area where it washed off. Other than that, I ahve really liked it. I'm just careful not to get water on tmy legs until it's comletely dry.

Hi M., the on-line natural store that I shop with has a tanning product. I haven't used it myself, but a friend of mine really likes it. Here is the info on it.

"If you’re looking for rich, bronzed skin without the risks associated with sun exposure or tanning beds, look to Bronze Glo Sunless Tanning Spray and Tanning Towelettes. Formulated with natural moisturizers and nourishing vitamins A, C,and E, Bronze Glo delivers a gorgeous, streak-free “tan” that looks radiantly natural and fades like a real tan—not orange."

Let me know if you would like to try it!

Danielle's answer also has my vote. I have used Nicole Miller's Bronze Glo for years - no odd smell, no odd color - it's great and lasts so well - looks very natural. It's just one of over 400 wonderful products with outstanding performance at www.melaleuca.com.

Estee Lauder's spray had been my favorite before Bronze Glo...but as good as it was - when I got hot, I could smell it.

The Dove works better. Just get the right one. I have very fair skin and there are different levels. I would suggest starting with the lightest one and spread it generously and evenly.

The only thing I've had any luck with is the nutrigena gradual sunless tanning lotion that you apply every day as a mousturizer after your shower and it takes time to darken you. After about a week I had a nice glow and it looked good. Not fake or streaky and orange. I'm very light skinned and other tanners lok very fake on me.

I have not tried this product personally, but I plan on it very soon. I have several friends who have tried it and really like it. It is the self tanner from Bath and Body Works. They tell me that not only does it do the trick, but it also has a much better smell than most of these other products on the market. I have used Jergens in the past and really liked it.. which I bought mainly because the smell was much better, but now that I have heard about this Bath and Body Works lotion, I am going to try it. Good Luck!

I have fallen in love with Tan Secret by Toni Brattin! You can find this product on www.hsn.com. It's a gel that dries quickly & you can see your tan virtually in an instant. The product itself is colored, not white likes lotions, so you can see where you have applied the gel as you go, you don't have to wait for it to develop hours later & realize that it's streaked and uneven. I've used Tan Secret head to toe & have not one complaint.

I used Jerjens in the past and didn't like it either, then a friend was using the same product and it looked great. She said the secret was to really rub it in and of course use sparingly on ankles, heels, knees and elbows. I tried that and it worked for me too. It is a job to use it correctly, it takes alot of rubbing and be careful of your finger nails. I have already started it this year and it is working great.

Good Luck

I have been using the Loreal spray for a about a year and a half. It is in an aerosol (spelling) can and no streaks and very natural looking color. The trick it to shower and EXFOLIATE really good. Make sure you really moisturize the problem areas like elbows, knees and feet for several days prior to first application. Then get out of the shower and spray it on. This stuff is great because you don't have to rub it on creating streaks. I put it on one morning for a party that night and everyone asked when I got back from vacation. Wish I could attach a photo for you guys to see how much color it does. OH...and it is only about $8 a can. Hope this helps!!

Hi, M.
I don't know if you want to try it, but in the past I have used a product called Toma's Tan Perfect. I'm really pale so when I found it on an infomercial I thought I would give it a try. (Now you can find it a Walgreens) It has an extra step that you may not want to do, but it is also an optional step as well. The tanner comes with an exfoliation body wash and then the tanning lotion. I liked it because it has the dark tanning toner so you can see where you have applied it and since I am pale, like I said, that was a major plus. I used it for quite some time but then I found Clinique had created a similar selfless tanner that I love. It also has that dark toner to the lotion so you can see where the lotion is going and you won't have the streaking. I really like the clinique for now. It's really good and it doesn't have a bad smell like some of the tanless lotions do.(neither did the Toma's Tan Perfect)

I hope this gives you some ideas. Let me know if you decide to try one!! I'm sure you will find something that works for you. Have fun with it!

I know everyone is giving you all sorts of product ideas. So I thought I would let you know what has been wroking for me.
Sunless Tanning Lotion SPF 6 - 4.5 oz Price: $14.50
This self-tanning lotion is formulated with alpha hydroxy acid and citric acid for a deep, even, natural-looking tan in just two hours. Dihydroxyacetone is the ingredient that gives the skin color. This ingredient reacts to the surface skin cells adhering to them and transforming them into a tan through a chemical reaction. The level of dihydroxyacetone combined with the base formulation and the level of penetration cause the variation in shades among formulas. The deeper the product penetrates, the more natural the color you receive. By having citric acid in the formula, the dihydroxyacetone reaches a deeper layer of the skin's surface leaving a more natural-looking tan. Dermatologist, sensitivity and allergy tested. Oil-free.

Its great and my husband says it looks natural. Also a little goes a long way with this product. Well if you are interested in it you can order it on this web site. wwww.beautipage.com/jellison or contact me . It s a Beauti-Control product and I sell it. If you are not happy with the product you can return it to me for a full refund too . Hope this helps you or someone else.

Thanks
J.

I was just thinking this. My legs will blind a person. Thanks for asking this question. I will have to take some of this advice as well. Everything I have used is streaky. I haven't tried the Neutrogena yet.
