The best place to look is Meetup.com. I have been involved in several groups through Meetup.com. I am currently in SAHM of the Va. Peninsula. You have a chance to meet and greet with most of the group and see if it's a match. (We have both morning and afternoon, free and paid events, Mom's night out Couple's night out. There is even a regular "Lonely Hearts" dinner for moms with husbands that are deployed so the kids and moms can all have a "family" dinner.) Hope you and your boys find a great Playgroup.

Hello, well I am involved with a playgroup in Newport News from Denbigh Baptist Church, it is close to Yorktown, but I am unsure if you'd be willing to travel to NN for it. The ladies are wonderful, the kids are amazing, and we have lots of fun doing different activities. We go to museums, parks, pools, Chuck-E-Cheese's, we have parties for different holidays, as well as crafts and so on and so on...... The ages range from newborn to preschool, and older kids usually join us in the summer. The womens ages range as well from 25-40. We meet every Tuesday morning at 10am or so. So I just wanted to send you an invitation. We also do a once a month mommy's night out, and also a once a month military wives night out with lots of different women from the church!! You'll be able to build friendships as well. God Bless!

I am a part of a great group in the area.

tidewatermommies.com

With playgroups for different ages, moms night out, playdates in peoples homes as well as public places (parks, malls, chuck-e-cheese..) it gives you an oppertunity to find new places and people to be with and it gets you and the little ones out the house! We also have forums for different moms, military moms, breastfeeding moms, young mommies, older mommies, moms with children with special needs. You shoudl definitely go check it out.

Hey A.,
I'm part of church called By Grace Community Church. We're young (been around about 2 years) with a good amount of military folks and a growing number of young couples/young families. We have a Wed. am Bible Study with free childcare and the kids that come are right in your kids' age range. We have a great time looking at the Bible together but also sharing our lives (the ups and the downs) with each other. I know you said playgroup, but I bet you would find a number of women at our church really fun and able to care for you/develop meaningful friendships. Here's the website:

www.bygraceonline.org.

If you want any more info or if you want to meet up with me somewhere before coming to Bible Study or to a Sunday service (or other weeknight group) just let me know and I'll be happy to get together!! You can message me with your info and I'll get right back to you!
