Well, if I were you I would not stress the gaining weight. I ate healthy everyday, and gained weight and both my boys were premature. My youngest son didn't weigh but 1 lbs 8oz. As for you water intake it takes a lot for my to drink water so what I started doing was buying Crystal Light (lemonade) it makes the water bearable and it actually tastes good. As far as eating healthy, it easier said then done. Try and find something, I don't care if its just one thing, and eat it. Start small, dont try and eat big portions of anything. Take your time. Special K bars are good snacks. Also, try eating saltine crackers, they will help you hold your food down. Pork, isnt the best food to eat, but I'd rather you eat pork , than nothing at all. Just try and move up gradually. Icecream is good for the dairy part of it. FRESH FRUIT are always a good option. Good LUCK!

Hey N., I will be 20 this month and I had the same problem while I was pregnant and still do now that my son is 7 months old. One thing you may want to try is going to a place like Smoothie King because the people there can really help make a smoothie specific to your situation, i.e. losing, maintaining or gaining weight. It tastes good and if appetite is part of the problem you don't have to eat as much but still get the nutrition. I believe the Hulk is their highest calorie drink. I hope that at least gives you an idea to mull over. Good Luck! ps. you can contact me anytime I'm always looking for moms closer to my age...

DONT STRESS! Try not to eat too much pork but just eat what your body wants. try more fresh vegies and fruit & whole grains. sandwiches work great if you add good meats and veggies you can get everything in 1 handfull:) I actually lost weight in my 1st trimester (trust me i didnt miss a meal- i ended up gaining 48lbs). You are young and if you are healthy, it just may take a little longer. the goal is to nurish the body make it gain weight. you provide the nourishment & it will eventuall do it's part. dont let any doctor scare you. just smile & say "i'm wirking on it" just eat well & dont stress your baby with your stress :)
I was naturally slim, i was active & my body adapted so well that I was 20 weeks and wore a wedding dress purchased 1year earlier without a need for alterations.
My girlfriend gained 18 lbs during her entire pregnancy ( she didnt miss a meal either) abd had a healthy baby.
i'm not a medical expert but each of our bodies is unique to God's desigh and out lifestyle. No doctor or health professional can argue with that.

One great way would be thru milk or yougurts, cottage cheeses etc. But you would still have to consume the vegetables and fruits. If you try to eat a small fruit or vegetable every hour or so plus some type of meat at your main meals and intake atleast three glasses of milk throughout the course of the day you would definately be getting your nutritional requirements. I know you said it was a high risk pregnancy but just because you are pregnant doesn't mean you have to gain weight. My mom lost almost twenty pounds when she was pregnant with me--she got down to 98lbs when she delivered. I weighed 6lbs10oz and was healthy. I also lost weight while I was pregnant and had a healthy baby girl. So gaining weight isn't neceesarily the key--you just need to make sure to take in the right types of foods.

Eggs and cheese are pretty calorie-dense, if you can eat those. Of course, if all else fails, it's probably better to be getting calories from ice cream or chocolate than from nowhere at all, and if you can eat some bright fruits and vegetables you'll be getting your vitamins.

I know how you must be feeling, my first child was stillborn as well, but now I have a beautiful - and healthy! - almost 3 year old girl. Feel free to email me at ____@____.com if you need to talk, because I know how stressful it is to be in that situation. Good luck!
