A friend just advised me that she has been succesful combining Jenny Craig and the Alli pills. I am a bit concerned about the use of these pills - (she has had a cancer scare and continues to be monitored)
Does anyone have any experience with this diet program? Any input from the medical community on this?
What about the side effects?
Thanks much for any input.

C., the side effects from Alli are pretty severe. "Such effects may include oily spotting, loose stools and more frequent stools that may be hard to control." That is from their website! If you are interested in eating what you want and not having the side effects of Alli, take a look at www.c4weightloss.com. This program is called Core 4 and it works naturally, (with no side effects), and is clinically proven to help you lose weight. The best part is that you do not have to change what you eat! I have lost 12 pounds and my husband has lost 17 pounds, and we continued to eat how we always have! Shoot me an email at ____@____.com if you want some more information.

good luck!

Take it from the pharmacuitcal (sp) rep that I spoke to. Do not use Alli at any time for any length of time. It causes permanent liver damage!! She said that it really should be pulled from the marketplace. Maybe the FDA will do that when enough people die from it. I had also read that you may lose only an additional 5 pounds - to me - not worth liver damage. Arbonne has a great diet program - take a look at irenejaeger.myarbonne.com You could use this in connection with whatever diet plan you use to include or use the Arbonne plan. Good Luck, I.

I used Alli for a few months and will never use it again. I swear since using those pills, it completely changed how by body reacts to food.

Heres what happens when you take the pills. If you eat any fatty foods, ANY at all, while taking the pills your body will get rid of the extra fat through pooping. Seriously, its not even poop, its like a liquid oily substance. And this will go on and on as long as you take the pills. Its doesnt go away unless you stop taking the pills. Then you have to be careful becuase its all oily and liquidy that if you have gas you will leak this oily substance from your bum. Disgusting, I know.

Im not trying to scare you away, if you can stay away from fatty foods while on it then you should be fine, but then why would you need to take the pills if you have the will power to just not eat them? right?

Well, since being off those pills, if I eat say mozzarella sticks, Im in the bath room with dirahhea with in an hour. Same with anything fried or fatty. Im not stuffing my face either, I eat in moderation. And Im not fat. I am 5ft 3in and 120lbs. But since taking those pills I cant eat those foods at all without being in the bathroom later on.

There are no miracle pills. Getting healthy and losing weight is only done with eating healthy and exercising. Its a life style change. I got into running and kettle bells for toning. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions. Im really into fitness and nutrition.

Hi,

Yes, I have used Alli, here is what I learned:

If you commit yourself to weight loss using Alli I sugest you also purchase the book made for their "program". I found it very helpful because their are meal plans with variety and they were based for "Per week", so you were eating a variety of food, not hungry, and sticking to the "plan". Only once did I slip up while on Alli and I had potato chips while watching TV. Alli blocks 25% of the fat that you eat from your body, when you stick to the food plan you will have no side effects at all. However when you don't stick to it you risk having loose stools. For me taking Alli was like having extra incentive to stay on program. When I wanted to go out to dinner with my husband I simply only took my morning Alli, skipped the lunch and dinner pill as well as the following morning and then resumed.

There is no question that Alli works, between the fat blocking and the exercise they lay out for you in the book as well as the food plan suggestions and recipes...it's a no brainer. FWIW I checked 1st with my MD. I learned that for many yrs's the active drug in Alli was given to people with morbid obesity, so at the low dose provided in Alli it is very safe and effective.

Good luck...
J
