My sons class is doing the "obligatory" car wash but that will not raise enough money for the trip by any means.

I'm not certain how to set this up, but our school district does Grocery Dollars. Basically, parents from the school buy gift certificates to Dominick's, Jewel, etc., and the supermarkets donate 5% to the school. This program earned our school thousands of dollars last year. It really adds up, considering how much people spend on groceries. It might be worth looking at the websites for those supermarkets to see how to do this.

How about the bake sale after school? Those seem to do great. Of course you need other people doing some baking but the kids love it. I watch them line up immediately when school is over. I've bought a chocolate chip cookie or two myself. Although better check the rules on this one.

Set up a craft fair with vendors like Pampered Chef, tupperware, lia sophia, etc. that will give a % of sales to your fundraiser plus charge say a $25 table fee. Email me for the names of some great reps for these companies.
