My daughter is turning 2 soon, and I'm looking for a fun place to have her birthday party. Last year we had a small party at home, so I was wanting to have it somewhere else this year. I'm planning on inviting about 10 children and their parents. Any advice about where would be a fun place to have it??? We live close to the Stadium in Tampa. Thanks :-)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your response! I really do appreciate it. I talked it over w/ my husband, and I think we're going to do the park deal this year. I reserved a shelter at Lowry Park, close to the playground.

The Gymboree idea sounded great too. I called them and inquired about it. The cost kinda got us there. They wanted $250 w/ us bringing everything, or $350 and them providing the cake, decorations, etc... It would of been fine if we had more kids coming. But, I'm only planning on inviting about 10 kids, so maybe half will show up. But, I'm sure that would of been fun!

The Chucky Cheese idea was great too. I think they're a bit too young for the games, but I'll save that idea for perhaps next year!

Thanks for the other ideas too. This provided me lots of ideas for the next few years :-)

I always thought Chuck E Cheese was a good place to have bday parties. It's easy and fun for the kids. They have party packages that include pizza, drinks, cake, and game tokens.

Dear R.,
I just had my son's 2nd birthday at a park. It was great because all you really need to do is provide food and drinks and the playground provides the entertainment. We had our party from 10 am to 12 pm and this was perfect. Our son was is a good mood (so were all of the other children) and then it is nap time. Good luck. I also found Elmo (and Dora) party supplies at the Dollar store on Hillsborough and Habana. K.

It depends on how much you want to spend. There is A Play Patch or Gymboree. Both should provide a great party. You can visit www.aplaypatch.com (it's on Race Track Road), or www.playandmusic.com (gymboree). My son's 2nd birthday was at Playtime Express (purchased by A Play Patch later) and everyone had a great time. Two other mothers even booked thier parties there afterwards. I believe it was $175, but they included cake, juice, all paper products, a ballon for each child, they did a music circle with a parachute and bubbles, and of course open play. It's great because it is a small area with age appropriate toys, so the kids can play and the adults can visit with each other because they can see where their kids are. It's a private party. Chucky Cheese is good too, but you have to contend with all the other parties and people that are around you. With two year olds it's easier not worrying about where all the kids are. Hope you have a great party regardless of where you end up.

Pump it Up in Brandon is awesome, but a little pricey. All the kids and parents can jump too.

It's alittle expensive and I have to admit that I haven't yet been there myself, but I was looking into the Children's Museum of Tampa/Kid City used to be Safety Village at Lowery Park. If you have it there let me know if it was good...
