Removing Stain from Pillow

My son just got a brand new pillow for his new big boy bed and he had a diaper mishap at naptime today (basically liquified poop leaked onto his pillow in 3 spots) and I can't figure out how to clean it. The tag says spot clean only. I tried Oxy Clean but it didn't make a difference. The pillow is filled with a cotton/bamboo mix. Any suggestions? I'm hoping I can clean this and not need to buy a new pillow since we just got this one today! Thanks so much for the help!

What can I do next?

I have been using the spray and wash with resolve power pre wash and it works amazing. I have a 5 month old that spits everything up and one of his shirts got mixed in my hamper and was in there for a few days all dried up and I sprayed that stuff on it and let it sit for 5 mins and then washed and it looks brand new!

Hi! I know this sounds silly but try club soda. My mother got blood off a pillow with it before. Also, hydrogen peroxide works too. Put it on the spots and let it sit and then rinse it out and see. You may have to do it more than once. Good Luck! M.

From experience there will be more bodily fluids in the future. I was able to pick up some washable pillows at big lots for $5. So it is not worth your time and money spent on cleaning products to clean it. Plus whatever chemical you find to clean it, you can't rinse out and your sons will be sleeping next to that chemical every night.

What about vinegar water spray? Or hydrogen peroxide.

never had this happen before but im a nurse and we use hydrogen peroxide to remove blood stains. check a small spot first to see if it will affect the color. but it sounds like you probably have to buy another one anyway. if this is so, you may just try washing it anyway. i have washed many pillows that say spot clean only. i go to the laundromat where the washers are bigger and wash it on delicate. then air dry. it takes a long time to use the air setting on the dryer but if it is importnat to you its well worth the time. also for the future, you might want to put the pillow in a zippered case that is water proof and then put the regular case over it.
