Hello ladies:

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a vet in Darien or surrounding suburbs. Has anyone tried Bansfield in PetSmart in Darien? I hear they are pretty economical. Any thoughts or recommedations? Thank you.

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies. I made an appointment with Arboretum View in Downers Grove for Saturday morning. I called and they were very pleasant and helpful. I called another location that was recommended first, but when the lady answered the phone she seemed impatient so I got a bad vibe from that place. I really think I'll like Arboretum. Thanks again.

We go to the Darien Animal Clinic too and love them. They are very accommodating for all 3 of my dogs. A little pricey, but worth it.
I took my last dog to Downers Grove Animal Clinic where they missed two hernias she had that required surgery. I boarded the same dog at the Downers Grove Animal Hospital shortly after her surgery and when I picked her up it seemed that she was left in her cage the whole time because her whole back end (including the stitches) were soaked with urine. Finally we ended up at West Suburban Animal Clinic in Westmont where they missed a heart problem in my dog, that lead to her death shortly after.

So, I've been around to different vets and the Arboretum one or the Darien Animal Clinic would be my recommendations.

Ive been to All Creatures Great and Small and did NOT like them at all. They are VERY expensive and not very helpful. I had to diagnose my dogs urinary tract infection because they couldnt figure it out and her test and antibiotics cost me more than when i go to my own dr for myself. We went a few times and i just was not happy with them. So now we go to the Darien Animal clinic on Plainfield and Clarendon Hills rds. We've been there for about 2 years. They are not cheap, but the service seems ok. Ive been told the Archer Vets in Lemont are good and cheaper or the one someone else suggested in Bolingbrook, i was told that place was good too. There is Burr Ridge vet on Cass across form west suburban bank, but i havent been there. Hope that helps.

i go to the humane society on rt 53 just off royce road. they have been my vet of choice for 9 yrs. If you are looking for discount shots they do them on Thurs and Fridays. The vet is a woman that I see and very gentle and compassionate. Good Luck

I have been to Banfield and they are not very good, I had a couple of bad experiences with them. I think the best vet is Darien Animal Clinic, they are at the intersection of Plainfield Road and Clarendon Hills Road, right across the street from the library. We had a really great experience there, our vet was Dr K and she was awesome. Very caring, very thorough. www.darienanimalclinic.net I highly recommend them.
