Quality Emergency and Urgent Care

We just moved from Detroit (right down the expressway from Chidren's Hospital) so when we had an emergency in the middle of the night or other odd times no problem we were right there. But now I have no clue where we would or should go for our young children if something were to happen. I need some advice on good places to take them near the Pontiac/Auburn Hills area, thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

ther are lots of "urgent care" places around town. I know of on at 17 and crooks.

I have never had to take my daughter to the emergency room or an urgent care facility. I dont want to sit in the ER for hours with a sick kid.

I have a great pediatrician that we see - if my duaghter is sick we take her in. I can always get a same day appt. If she is sick in the middle of the night we wait until morning.

Hi, I too live in the Auburn Hills area and we've had several emergency moments. Our son is 2. Troy Beaumont (down M-59 to Dequindre; 15 minutes approx) is great but taking them to any hospital means a long wait. There is an Urgent Care clinic right by Troy Beaumont Hospital. It's on South Boulevard near Dequindre. It's quick and helpful.
1-888-8-DOC-NOW.
We use the one of S. Blvd: Wellpointe Bldg. (there is also one in Rochester.)
Hope this helps! K.

Nathasa- Beaumont has an urgent care (not ER room) for children. You need to call to get the hours. For urgent care we go to the Urgent Care located in the Well Pointe Building (DOC NOW) on the corner of S. Blvd and Dequinder (next to Beaumont). My pediatrician is in that building also and recommended them. We have been there several times and also received great care.

Hi N. -

When my kids needed to go to an urgent care or ER I've taken them to either Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital right on M-59 just as you get into Pontiac or St. Joseph's over on Woodward just north of Square Lake. It depends on what treatment they need. Troy Beaumont is also good and so is Crittenton over on Livernois just south of Walton. It all depends on where you're located and where your family doctor/pediatrician is associated with. I'd find a family doctor you like and go from there. You're always going to have at least a little bit of a wait in an ER. Good luck - S.
