I'm interested to know who are the best professional baby photographers in the Portland area. I'm not certain that it is in my budget but I am interested. I am specifically looking for non-chain photographers (since I already asked that question), perhaps someone that has their own studio or does amazing work outdoors. I love kiddiekandids but I can't help to think those photos would be so much more beautiful with a real background. Thanks for your time!

Hi Jennifer! There is a gal named Brigett who has her own photography business (www.pureimagephotos.com). She operates on her own, usually using the outdoors as a backdrop. She will also do a real cool thing called a picture party, where you can gather a group of your friends with thier kids/families and go to a location and play/hang out and she will snap photos of everyone the whole time and then put them up on her webpage, and send you a free 8x10 and you can order anything else that you like, or not if you didn't like anything. It is really pretty fun!

I don't know if budget is an issue or not but her prices have always been beyond reasonable. Even though she was booked for the day, she still fit me into her schedule so she could shoot my wedding. I cannot say enough good things about her. Those pictures turned out so great, we hired her to shoot our son after he was born.

We use Alyssa Jul Westerman. www.alyssajul.com She is so great with little ones. She will meet you at a location, take pics at your home, or in her studio. You decide! Her rates are very affordable & so are the photo prices. We have a 7 mos old son, 12 yr old daughter,and 16 yr old son. She's been taking monthly photos of my littlest son and we've been very happy with the results...too many good ones to choose from in fact! She also did our recent family pics. She's fantastic to work with and if you have an idea, she goes with it. (Michael loves to carry things around, so I insisted that he carry a pumpkin in the pictures! It turned out so cute!
