Has anyone used a programmable pressure cooker? I didnt even know there were such things till yesterday, and so I looked up "programmable pressure cooker" and found one i think I like but its $122!!!!!! Is it worth it for that amount? Do you use it alot? When do you use a pressure cooker as oppose to a slow cooker? Would I want to buy both?

What can I do next?

My mom uses a pressure cooker for two things
-to cook a roast quickly. She can pull it out of the deep freeze after breakfast, and it's done in time for lunch.
-for canning - because it's big, and she can fit all of her jars in it at once for boiling.

I don't know what other use it has. If this is appealing to you, then go for it. Personally, I'd just stick with crockpot and have the roast for Sunday dinner instead of Sunday lunch. Even if they weren't cost-prohibitive, I can't justify rearranging my pantry and cabinets to store something that big, that I'm only MAYBE going to use occasionally.

I've never heard of a programmable O..
My MIL loves hers so much, I went to buy O. and was surprised they were over $100, so I decided to stick with my crockpot!

I thought the great thing about pressure cooking was that it was quick?
I have an older friend who has one. Dinner in 15 mins. I don't think I'd need a programmable one...

I have one, but don't use it very often. I got mine for quite a bit less, though. Here are several for a much more affordable price. They also have a 30 day guarantee and even if you just decide it's not for you they'll refund your money.

I've never heard of a programmable pressure cooker but I do have a regular one. I paid maybe around $60.00. It comes in handy for large portions of meat that I didn't get around to earlier in the day, ribs, mashed potatoes (cook in 5 minutes), boiled whole potatoes, whole corn on cobs (I cook a bunch and freeze), beans when I'm in a pinch, chicken stock, and mexican style soup. I have a crock pot and a pressure cooker, used for different things.
