Most of my friends have delivered there and thought it was great! I will be delivering at Plano Medical, but would have no problem if I was switched to Plano Presby!!

It is absolutely the best! My L & D nurse stayed 45 minutes past her shift to see me through the whole delivery. She was awesome! They also have excellent prenatal classes. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

It is an excellent hospital, not that I know from personal experience. HOwevere, my mother is a RN there and works on the new Anti-partum wing (before birth). I have been there several times and the patient rooms in labor and delivery are so nice! If you like your doctor and he/she delivers there, go for it! I would, but my doctor is at Plano Medical, which I like, too. Although, you have to be your strongest advocate, which after having one baby you probably already know that. You just have to speak up and if you don't want something done a certain way or need something, let your voice be heard!

Well I have to agree with everyone. I had my first daughter at Baylor in Irving over 10 years ago and loved it. My 3 year old and 1 yr old I had at Plano Presby and would never switch. Dr. Robbins also delivered my youngest 2 and I love him as well. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. I delivered vaginally with all 3 of my kids so I dont know anything about the high C-section comment. The nurses have been wonderful. My youngest spent 2 weeks in the new chilrens unit with RSV last December. Its an incredible - each room has a different theme and decorated beautifully. Our insurance as well covered 100% except a small $20 copay. The only complaint that I could share with you is from my husband. The sleeping arrangements for him in the rooms were not as nice as they are in Baylor. But I figure I was uncomfortable for 6-9 months, hubby could handle 3 days :)

I had my last two boys there, among several surgeries over the years and each time had been a great experience with the staff of nurses and doctors....

I had my twins there and had an amazing experience. It is a wonderful, wonderful hospital. I would hesitate to go anywhere else. We spent a month with the kids in the NICU there, too, and it was just as good as an experience like that can be. They are amazing. Another mom in my playgroup had her little girl a month early, and spent a month with her little one in the NICU too, and she raves about her experience there. I have actually chosen all of our family doctors within the hospital based on my experiences and comfort level there. I have also made one trip to the ER with my daughter and had a great experience, and they just added that whole Children's unit there which I haven't used but have heard is great. I think we had a copay as well, so I don't think the cost was really an issue for us. Good luck!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the two things that I loved the most about the hospital ( I agree about the rooms, nurses, etc.)...the food, very good I thought for hospital food. I had a friend that came and had dinner with me when I had my son and she ate their food and loved it too (so it wasn't my groggy drugged state that made me think that!). Also they have a very supportive staff if you choose to breastfeed. The lactation consultants were top notch I think. I took their childbirth classes and breastfeeding class and found them to be educational and helpful. They have wonderful security measures and are very thorough in letting you know what's going on. I will be delivering there again and am looking forward to it. Good luck!

Well, I guess I will be like the rest of the responses for this hospital, looks unanimous, but it is AWESOME... I loved this hospital when I had my son. My OB (who is the best OB/GYN I have been to in my life and I have been to several seeing that I was in the military and traveled alot), Dr Robbins, is loceated in the hospital also, which made everything convenient. I went into labor in the middle of the night, taken to emergency room at treated like a queen after that. They took me to a beautiful room to deliver my son, which turned into a C-section. I had a safe and speedy surgery and my son was taken care of by there great staff there. My recovery room was gorgeous and comfy. The nurses are always happy to get anything you need in your recovery. Several services are available after deliver, from pictures, birth certificates, ect and they come to your room at your convenience. The nursery took wonderful care of my son whenever i sent him there. The lactation class was wonderful and the nurses very very helpful because I had a hard time breast feeding but they helped me and fixed me up with a pump because my son was a lazy sucker. Just wonderful, and leaving the hospital was easy as can be. I highly recommend this hospital, and my OB doctor also.. Great great great and I was a first time mother so you know I was nervous.

I delivered there and had a great experience. There was one night nurse I didn't get along with, but I told them and they switched me the next night. My only beef with them is that they are very expensive. I won't be delivering #2 there because I just can't afford it without my old insurance. Also, be aware that they have a very high C-Section rate. I often wonder if I would have been able to avoid it if I had gone elsewhere.

I had my son there in Jan 2005 and had an appendectomy in August 2006. I was there 2 days for my son and a WEEK for the appendectomy. The hospital is not good, it's AWESOME!!!

My friend had her son there in April 2006 and they had already redone the rooms AGAIN!!! Super nice.

Cost wasn't a problem for my child birth because I had a flat co-pay of $50 and 100% of everything else was covered.

My appendectomy was with a different insurance but I think my total out-of-pocket for a major emergency surgery and a week stay was about $650. Not bad...

The C-section thing is probably more of a doctor preference than a hospital preference. Make your desires known up front so your doctor understands your wishes.

I had one nurse who was kinda rough with me when I was in for my appendectomy, but other than that, I had FANTASTIC people working with me and when you're in there for a WEEK, you pretty much get to know everyone...
